Dr. White Open rny

Well I got my denial on the appeal for lap rny thru Tricare. Now Dr. Goerings office (Grand Island) wants to set me up with Dr. White in Omaha for open rny. Am scared. Can anyone tell me about Dr. White? How long is the incision? How long till I can go back to work? I don't have vaca. or sick leave. Am so torn, don't know what to do. Rhonda

Darn Rhonda so sorry to hear that. is it just the lap part that Tricare wont approve?? Cause Dr. White does a great lap, He did mine the end of July and I was back to work after 2 weeks off.I could have used another week off but I only had a few sick days and took the rest off unpaid. Dr. White is an excellent surgeon. I had my DS done open, and it was no big deal, very little pain. I had an epidural for 3 days, which really helped. Have no worries about Dr. White, though!!

Rhonda, I had an open about 2 weeks ago and am doing great. The incision is from under the breast bone to about my belly button. If I had strictly a desk job I could probably go back to work after 2-3 weeks. I am happy that I had an open...less chance of leakage etc. Hang in there, it was the best thing that has happened to me since my 3 kids and husband. Linda

I can't help you much with info about an open, but I can tell you how much I love Dr. White and his staff!!! They are phenomonal! I would reccommend him to anyone!! Good luck!
