Looking for a support group in Omaha

Hi, I recently moved from Los Angeles, CA to Omaha, NE and am looking for a weight loss surgery support group in Omaha. I had the lap band procedure July 31, 2003 and have lost 90% of my excess body weight. I regularily attended a support group in Los Angeles for the last 16 months and it really helped me with my weight loss. Best wishes, Linda

Hi Linda~ Welcome to Omaha! I know that each surgeon has their own support group, but I am sure you are welcome at any of them. Give their office a call for dates/times. Dr. T. White (Immanuel Hosp) Dr. G Anthone (he does open DS only) UNMC group (Dr. Corinna McBride et al) Dr. Ranjan Sudan at Creighton I have been thinking about getting an Obesity Help Group going, and have the training information, but with everyone going to their own MD groups, I don't know if that would take off?

Hey you never know until you try, there are misfits out there like moi - I had Dr. Torpy but he doesn't do the surgery anymore and has no support groups, I just attended Dr. White's last month, I never knew there was one at Immanuel until a friend told me about it - and I am 2 years out! Hey there is an idea - a support group for all the others - Let me know if you decide to get a group going.

I go to Dr. Whites, but I wouldn't be apposed to going to a 2nd one. Let me know if this materializes, Cathy -85
