Jennie, HI I'm from North Platte . Had my lap band 6-02..with wonderful success. TT in7-03 taking another 10# off! There is only one place I would recommend, that's Scottsbluff, NE. Dr. Halloway. I lost 140#'s and 100 inches...and holding! We have a wonderful support group here, meetings first and third Tyesday of the month at 7 p.m. I'm being trained to be Chapter Leader for support groups for NE at the 2004 Obesity Help Convention in Burbank,CA. in Oct. Go to  www.npwlssg.org and check out our web site. My personal email is [email protected]. Hugs from your WLS sister in NE
If I can help you with anything don't be afraid to get ahold of me. anywat I can.

Hi Jennie! I'm relatively new as well. after much research I'm going to have the lap band done by Dr. White in Omaha. Well, at least I hope to! My PCP has all ready done all they can. Insurance is going over the paperwork. And with Dr. White you have to attend a seminar before you can start anything with him. I live just south of hastings here, wish there was someone closer who did this, but I just couldn't get myself to feel comfortable with the RYN. But I know how well that works for others! Good luck!
Hi, have you checked out Scottsbluff, Dr. Halloway? He had done over 500 bands and I love mine. Beth

Several of my co-workers have had Dr. O'Brien in Sioux Falls, SD. It is 3 hrs from Lincoln. They all have done very well with few complications. He is a Creighton grad and has been doing WLS for 25 years. He told me that he is trying to get all his patients to go Lap Band, cuz it is so much safer with less complications. I am persuing lap band and am getting ready to submit paperwork to insurance for the second time. I just keep hoping.
I am sorry to hear you are going through Breast cancer tx. I wish you the best. I am a nurse and if you don't mind I might suggest staying out of Lincoln for any type of WLS. Not good.
