Hi Cindi and others!
I thought I'd start a new post so it doesn't look so bleek on the NE page I moved back for several reasons....lost my job, wanted to be closer to family and lastly I really didn't like Minnesota, very hard to meet people and make friends. I had my surgery done open, because my doctor doesn't do the lap. Any questions you have Cindi or any others feel free to ask, thats what this board is for! So far I've lost 50lbs! Which is hard to believe since I can't really tell I've lost any yet. Where do you stand with your doctor at this point? Do you have a date?
Shelby
Hi Shelby,
Nice to meet you. I am playing the waiting game with my insurance company. Voc Rehab may pay for surgery but I have to have an iron-clad no from the insurance co. There is an exclusion so there's a pretty good chance it will be denied.
I raise mini schnauzer puppies and I have sold one to MN. They are coming to get her this coming weekend. I also have relatives and friends in Mn.

Welcome Shelby..Im scheduled for surgery next monday the 26th. Dr. White is my doctor, I have only met him once but he made me feel comfortable. I have talked with others who have him and everyone seems to be very happy. Congrats on your loss.Even if you cant see it Im sure your body is beginning to smile at you. Jean B

Open RNY 250/214/165
It is so good to know there are others out there!!
I have been researching the surgeries for 2 months. I am BMI 42, and initially ONLY considered the Lap Band. Now, I have met with someone who is very positive about RNY.
I am a nurse in Omaha. I missed the last session with Dr. White. I am going to Dr. Sudan's on 8-4, and have my private appt on 8-12.
I am 150 pounds overweight in my opinion.
I just can't make up my mind as to what to do. One insurance company told me that the band is still investigational !!???
I am so glad I found this site....
