Beatrice support group meeting

Hi all, We are having our Beatrice support group meeting, thursday night, may 20th, at 7pm in the Garden room at the Beatrice Community Hospital. The hospital is very easy to find, if your on highway 77, turn east at the Mcdonalds until you get to 10th street, then turn south 2 blocks and there you are. Go into the emergency room entrance and ask the folks at the window where the garden room is, they'll be happy to help you. This support group is for anyone who is looking into having surgery or has had surgery, we have folks who have had all types of surgery, mgb, rny, banding, we are not sposered by any Dr., we just talk about how we are doing and share a lot of information with eachother. hello, I am actually very close to Beatrice but I wont be able to attend this comming up meeting. I'd like to talk to some people on here and hopefully attend a future meeting. Let me tell you a little about me... I am 18 years old, and looking into getting the laporoscopic ryn (i think thats what it is). My mom is also going to get this surgery done. We have already sent the papers into medicaid, now we are just waiting for the approval. Uhhm, I'm not quite sure what else to say.. but I will deffinately check into the posts here. Jessicca, Fairbury is just "next door". I hope that you and your Mom can come to our meeting sometime. I do know that support meetings are a huge help to your success with this surgery. If you coming into town some day e-mail me the day before and I'll try to e-mail you back and if I don't have any appointments you can stop in and see me at work. I would love to help you and your Mom with any questions you might have. The Gal that runs our meetings is from Cortland and we have several members from all around the area. heyyy! Look's like my boss at work in beatrice was reading my mind when I was going to call in and ask for this thursday off so I could make it to the meeting.. lol She didnt even put me on the scheduel. I told my mom about this website, she joined, and she really wants to attend the meeting this thursday, so it looks like she and I will both be there. Like you said, I dont know how much help it will do, because my mom and i (especially me) are both kind of shy when it comes to meeting new people.. but i think it would do us both some good to get the social light of things and get to know some more people that are or have been in the same position as us. I didnt realize I have as much support as I have until just a few weeks ago when my mom was talking to everyone (teachers, principals, family members, etc.) and they all sent in letters of recomendation and support for me. I was totally in awe.. I dont know what to think about this whole deal but I'm praying that someday I will be able to be healthy and not heavy. I hope to see you at the meeting on thursday!
