At my upper GI last week, they told me I have a ulcer on the staple line. I need to find a good gastro doc. I'm having other problems as well, digestive problems. I don't have a PCP at the moment, I'm looking for one of those too. I researched this site, but nothing listed for Omaha or CB. Docs in Des Moines, but that's not within my reach. Anybody have a great gastro doc they love??

I don't know, but I'd call the UNO med center, they would have a few I'm sure.

Thanks Christine, There's a whole bunch in the phone book, I was just hoping someone could give me the name of a GOOD one. LOL I've already been to 2 PCP's that are clueless about WLS surgeries. Kept insisting I could take NSAID's.

I can't speak highly enough of my doctors. My surgeon is/was Dr Tom White, and My personal physician is Dr Jim Stier. They are both at Immanual with Alegent Health. Dr Stier tells you like it is, but he listens well and doesn't make you feel like a freak for being fat. He is very supportive. When I went to him and told him I wanted the surgery, he went out of his way to help me, writing letters to my insurance company and calling Dr White personally to ask him to do my surgery. Dr White also, was wonderful. I felt totally confident in his ability. He was very thorough with me, and he has a team of people behind him in his office that are phenomenal. I highly recommend both doctors. Also-if you are looking for an ob/gyn Dr Micheal Reed is your man. First gynecologist I've ever felt 100% comfortable with. He's also at Immanuel thru Alegent health. Dr. Ranjan Sudan at Creighton is an awesome doc! He used to be at University and he came over to Creighton to head up the bariatric program a little over a year ago. He tops in his field, he uses robotics in laparascopic surgery and he really cares about his bariatric patients!

Thanks to both of you for the names. I'll call both of them and see about details you know- like insurance. I had such a bad experience with Mercy in CB, I really don't want to go back there. Thanks a bunch
