Weight loss surgery in Grand Island.

Just thought I would pass this information on.

I read in the Grand Island Independent today that two surgeons here will be present information on Laparoscopic bastric banding and bypass.  Dr. Luebbe and Dr. Schneider will be doing the presentation at St. Francis Hospital on TeusdayJuly 21st.

YEAH  maybe I can get my fills done here instead of driving to Omaha, losing a day of work, cost of gas etc.

I did call the office and the receptionist said they were not doing fills yet.   HMM how can they do the lap band without doing fills.   I am going to the seminar and asking the surgeons themselves if they are doing the fills.

Barb, let me know what you find out....that hour trip would be so much better than the 2 1/2 hours I do now.  I am about ready for a fill too.  Just haven't wanted to take the time off from work to do it...rather take off to go see granddaughters or camp!  Imagine That!! Better prioritize, huh?  HA..

Went to the support meeting last night in Kearney and we thought that the more people that would call the Dr.'s office directly might make them realize there is a need for them to do fills here in Grand Island.
For me to go to Omaha is a day off of work with no pay plus the gas........plus who can resist shopping when they are in Omaha.  I would save big bucks if I could do it here. 

Hi Barb, Also ask them if they will do fills for bands that are placed elsewhere. I know of a lot of surgeons who won't fill bands placed by other surgeons. Mona

My surgeon is Dr Schneider and I did ask them about the fills.
I was told that they are NOT doing fills placed by any other surgeons at this time.

They said it was a possibility in the future but want to concentrate on their patients at this time.
