16 days!

Only 16 days left until my DS surgery with Dr Anthone!! I'm so excited! And the calendar isn't moving!!!! I want it to be hear already lol

Hi my name is dolly I just read your post about Dr's pushing the RNY I am leaning toward the DS also and at this time waiting for authorization to see 3rd Dr. for WLS the 1st would only do lapbands the 2d would do DS cash only bases and on top of that if you were to have the RNY he wanted 950.00 dollars up front for vitamins and other items, he even had the nerve to say at the seminar Im putting my sons thru college and that is expensive. Needless to say I didn't go back. Im wondering why getting the DS is such a hassel? It has been around for sometime,  did you also have problems finding your Dr. Sincerely dolly

I'm not the OP but I have also had the DS. 

Many doctors do NOT do the DS and thus they are not going to encourage something that they don't have the skills / know how or interest to do.  They want to make the money not necessarily do what is best for the patient.  

You don't state who the docs you have seen are but I can fully and completely recommend you to see Dr. Anthone.  He does primarily the DS (he assists the other doc in the practice with lap band and the RNY).  He is a wonderful person and awesome wonderful doc.  He is now my doc, but not the one who did my DS.  

If you are interested in the DS and want to know more about it and ask more questions check out the DS forum here on OH.  They are a great bunch of people and can answer all of (or the majority) your questions. 

Many doc also have the old info on the DS from when there were problems and such with the surgery.  Do your research and don't go with what  a doc wants, go for what YOU want with the information you have!
