New to Nebraska

Hi I'm Anna and just moved here from Colorado where I had my surgery in 2007. I live in Bellevue and I am looking for a support group. Any help would be great. Thanks

Hi Anna, welcome to the group. I know of support groups in Lincoln, Grand Island and Kearney. Hopefully this helps. Mona

I know my dr. - Dr. White through Alegent has a support group on the 1st Monday of each month out at Lakeside Hospital (which is West Omaha).  I also know that Dr. McBride of UNMC has a group too. 

What I would recommend is to contact the major hospitals - such as Creighton, UNMC, and Dr. White is at Immanuel and Lakeside and find out when their support group meets and if you can go to them if you aren't their patient since you just moved here. 

To go to Lincoln, it is a 1 - 1 1/2 hrs away, Kearney is 3 1/2 hrs, and Grand Island is 4 hours! 

There are several active local support groups through the hospitals, you would need to contact them to find out when/where they are!

Hi Anna,
Creighton has a support group that meets the first wed of every month at 6 pm. I had my surgery there and everyone is very nice. Welcome to Bellevue( I live here too!)

Thank you that helps alot. I do not know many people here yet. It will be nice to hang out with some people that know what I have been threw.
