nutrition consult

I am in the process of just gettng started toward surgery.  I have a mandatory nutrion consult coming up in a week or so and my insurance does not cover this.  Does anyone know about what the average nutrition consult may cost?  I am going to the Universtiy of Neb Med Center.

I checked out lots of doctors before deciding on Dr. Winterstein. The nutritional consult I had (with Dr. White's office) ran about $160. Even if your insurance doesn't cover it, ask them to run it through your insurance. Because of my insurance, I get discounted rates on a lot of things even if they're not covered.

That being said...have you talked to other surgeons? Methodist is a center of excellence and the doctors there are amazing. The support group meets this Thursday at 5:30pm at Methodist Health System, Omaha Room, 8511 W. Dodge Road, Omaha. Stop by if you can. Look for me...I'll be the stressed out one with a 6 year old in tow. :)
