Just wanted to see if anyone here has used Dr Sudan prior to him leaving for Duke. I am considering using him for my revision from my RNY to the DS. Also did he do the DaVinci surgical procedure while at Creighton.

I had dr. Sudan and I don't have any complaints.  Not sure if he had anything to do with it but I don't dump, no strictures, haven't had any bleeding, leaking/complications.  I was dissapointed when he left but he told me that duke was a great opportunity.  Wish you well.

I had Dr. Sudan for my surgery (DS) and love him and the surgery he did!  No problems whatsoever and his bedside manner was awesome (even made sure my hubby had a pull out chair/bed for the four nights I was in the hospital).  Great doc!

I had Dr. Sudan do my lapband.  He seemed to know what he was doing and his bedside manner was good.  I haven't had any problems.

Is he starting to do surgeries at Duke now?  I thought I read he was going to teach, but it would be such a waste for him not to exercise his surgical talents.  I am not sure what the DaVinci procedure is, but I did hear he was involved with some robotic surgery trials.

Creighton's designation as a Center of Excellence is based on the work of Dr. Sudan, and from what I have heard, they must keep his name associated with their program or risk losing the COE designation.  That is why it would surprise me if he was doing surgeries in NC.  None of the other surgeons at Creighton have the experience or credentials in bariatrics, and none of them do the DS.

You are right, Greg~
I have heard from good sources, Creighton is no longer doing bariatrics, and are sending their patients to Dr. Anthone, who is amazing. I love Dr. Sudan too, but without him, the program won't go on.

Interesting .....I was at an educational seminar in November with a friend who was looking into the DS at Creighton, and Dr. Forse seemed to imply he did the DS.... though I couldn't find any forms of bariatric surgery he was doing online.

Dr Sudan is now at Duke. Did he do your surgery? if so, when and how was the experience? I am currently in Virginia looking to go to Duke and have Dr Sudan perform the surgery.
