Ok  I've been on this jurney for over two 1/2 years now.

When I started I was with Dr. A  in omaha when the new year came and my insurence changed  Dr. A's office recomended I go to the med center because they were a center of excellence and he wasn't so I went and I was ok with it everthing was going good until Dr. sudan left I've compleated all my requierments and the med center called today and they want to sceduale me for WLS so now I'm wondering should I go back to Dr. A

My main consern is I didn't meet Dr. sudan and I did go to the first office visit with him but I didn't see him I saw his Assistant and Dr. Force wants to scedual me and I haven't met him on the other hand I met Dr. A three diferent times and two of them were during my office visit.

Also dose anyone have information on Dr. force because I've looked him up in nebraska and dr. sudan still comes up as the sergen in omaha.

All thoughts welcomed

if you have a choice I would go back to Dr. A.  Sudan did my surgery before he left.  I have had Dr. F and if I could I would leave his care asap!

Can I ask why? What is it you don't like? And can't you go to another Dr. for your care?

I was a self pay and I have not had good restriction. I want to make sure that the band/port is not leaking. I will not have him correct the problem if there is one but I would expect some type of reimbursement.  Once I know for sure I will switch doctors.  I have also heard several stories about patients that have had complications and he doesn't have the greatest bedside manner.  I just comes down to your gut instinct- I wish I would have followed mine.  Good luck and keep me posted.

Hello;
I too have been on a long journey; mine has taken 5 yrs. I year ago I started at Creighton; I had put in 5 months of dietary meetings when Dr. Sudan left. I switched to Dr. A and had  my consult with him on Sept 3rd. Now Dr A is going to perform a Panniculectomy on Dec 1st at 1PM. Dr A has been a straight shooter with me and he has kept each and every promise that he has made to me. I am so glad to be in his care.

As for Dr. Forse my PCP advised me in the strongest terms not to allow Dr Forse to perform my surgery, I'll just leave it at that. The other troubling thing is that every time I have called Creighton I have gotten voice mail. That concerns me when you can't get a live person to answer the phone.

In the end the way I looked at it was it has taken me 5 yrs to get to where I am .Whats a few more months to get it right. I have never heard a negative comment about Dr A. I wish you good luck and great health on your continuing journey.

I would agree with the others and I will even go a step further, stay away from creighton.  Granted, I don't have any idea what's going on there but it's strange how so many "good"dr's and staff that left all at once.  (I had my surgery with dr. Sudan).  I asked twice for my records to be transferred and they haven't got it done(and the list goes on), it's a shame what has happened because I thought my experience while under the care of dr. Sudan and his staff  was great.  I know it seems like a very long process but I had to start over twice, I would do some "shopping".  Hang in there.

'scuse me . . . I'm a former Omaha resident and found myself lurking around on your message boards when your posts caught my eye.

Are you folks saying that you've waited 5 years for your surgery??? I realize that every surgeon and WLS program has a unique protocol but this really caught me off guard.  I can't help but think I must be reading this wrong.

My advice . .. do whatever research you need to do to get your answers but you have to be comfortable with your surgeon and your post-op care choices.  This forum is a great place to check out the doctors and get the inside scoop - benefit from the experience of others.

Good luck with your journey!

I have no experience with Creighton or Dr. Force, I do not think however that Dr. Force does the DS (I could be wrong though) so if that is what you are wanting I can vouch for Dr. A and his staff, they are WONDERFUL. I have been nothing but pleased with my experience with him, his staff, and Methodist hospital. Most times I have called the office I have gotten a warm body to speak to, and when I did leave a message it was responded to promptly. If you have any more questions please feel free to PM me. I love my DS and would do it again in a heartbeat. Good luck,

Michelle
