Creighton ?

I am really upset; I have been a Medicare patient at Creighton since 11/01/07 and I  was recently informed by letter that since Dr. Sudan had left the program. All Medicare patients would be put on hold until the end of this year and they found a new Medicare-certified surgeon. They said that they would try to get Dr. Forse certified but could not be sure when this would happen.

I went ahead and scheduled an appointment with Dr Anthone at Methodist for Sept 3rd. I went down last week and picked up my medical records from Creighton so I would have them for my appointment on the 3rd.

Today I recieved a letter from Creighton appologizing for the earlier letter; saying that they had erred and that Dr Forse could continue with Medicare patients. This has been a gut-wrenching experience; I hope they realize how much grief they have  put people through !!

I'm going to stay at Methodist; I think that is where the Lord meant for me to be !! I also think the Creighton program is in great disarray. Last week I tried calling the surgery dept three different days and each  time I  got a recording and had to leave a message. I know there are other people that have left the progam or have been wondering what to do. I hope everything works out for each and everyone of you on your journey. GOD BLESS !!!!!!!

Hi, it's so frustrating getting the run around. I am glad you found a surgeon who will take care of you. Thanks for posting so others can get this taken care of. Mona

Although Dr. Anthone's office staff seem to be having a horrible time dealing huge patient load from Dr. Sudan's practice,  Dr. Sudan's office is just currently the worse.  They told me they had mailed my records & 3 weeks later...still no records.  I had to wait an hour in person to get a copy of my records, & a manager had to do the copying.  The office was empty & no one could figure out where the office staff had gone.  The Dione person who answers the phone actually told me that no one in the office knows how to fax.  Can you believe that an office worker does not know how to send a fax?  Good luck with the trio @ Dr. Anthone's office.

I'm in the same boat, I've called a couple of times and I'm willing to bet that my dr I switched to doesn't have my records.  Hope he understands.  I feel sorry for the drs and nurses left behind at creighton, I would imagine they are running around like chickens with their heads chopped off.

I, too, am having a huge problem at Creighton, especially since Dr. Sudan left.  He was to be doing my surgery.  I had all of my pre-op tests done by April and didn't hear anything from Creighton, so I called towards the end of July.  After leaving about 3 messages, I was finally able to get a hold of the nurse coordinator, Ronda, who was very rude to me and basically scolded me because I waited so long to call them.  I guess I thought they would be calling me.  I know that all of my tests were faxed/sent to them as I checked on that myself prior to calling Ronda.  I was told that she was missing 2 tests and that as soon as she received them she would call and set a date.  Well, nothing was heard from her so two weeks later, I called again.  She told me that she needed 2 tests and acted like she never talked to me before.  This is how it goes when I call them.  Deon, the receptionist, is also very rude on the phone when I confront her about my phone messages getting to Ronda and why I have not been given the courtesy of a return call.  When speaking to Ronda, she tells me that she tried calling me, but I have no note of it on my cell phone.  I even have them programmed into my phone and she never leaves a message, if she does actually call me.

That office is in a real mess.  I was having trouble with Deon again last week, she became very rude, I asked for her supervisor, and she hung up on me.

The only person that I seem to get any answers out of is the new billing clerk, Rose.  She is great to talk to and if she can't answer a question, she finds the answer, and calls me back.

Right now, I am waiting for my packet of pre-op info and RealizaBand info that Ronda said she was going to mail out last Tuesday.  It is now a week later and I still haven't received anything in the mail from Creighton.  I will be calling them tomorrow to see when she sent the info out, which I really don't think she has done yet.  My surgery is in about 3 weeks (Oct 7th)

The only reason I am staying at Creighton is because I have already done all of the pre-op tests and paperwork and don't want to start all over.  I have waited way to long to have this done.
Love to all and God be with all of us through our trials and tribulations!!!

I've had similar problems with Creighton recently (see my "Frustrated" post on the main lap board).  I've thought about switching docs but then I think it might be a hastle and that since I'm post op I might be ok.  Grrrr I don't know what to do.  Please answer my Frustated post if you have any ideas.  Thanks.

Hi Stephanie;
Since I posted about my Creighton problems I have since moved on to Methodist and Dr.Anthone. In fact I have a cardio stress test tomorrow morning; and if everything goes well I expect to get a surgery date soon. This has been a very dramatic change for me in that Dr.A wants to do a Panniculectomy on me and then later on a DS. I have been very impressed with Dr. A and I have a lot of confidence in him and what he wants to do; even though it is an additional surgery and probably a much longer stay in the nursing home that I am in . I wish you much success in your journey. May God Bless.

Do you know how full your band is?  How many fills have you had?

According to my records I have a 9.75 band.  I believe I was told it was an INAMED band.  I have 2cc's in it.  Like I said I've been trying to get a stupid fill forever.  I sure hope it happens on Nov 3 when I rescheduled it for yet again.

i'm not sure what they used on me but I do not feel like  I have much restriction.  They said that I have1.5 cc but I didn't fill a difference after the last fill.  A resident did my fill and I wasn't sure he knew what he was doing.  Do you go to the support group at Creighton?  Are you going to Lincoln next week for the seminar?
