Not Right ?

I've had quite a bit of trouble w/my band & in Feb. all fluid was removed. I've gotten 2 fills since then. I'm only up to 5cc's right now in a band I believe holds at least 20cc's. I'm hungrey all the time..What the heck is going wrong. Dr. wasn't there for my last fill..The nurse gave me 3cc's at my last visit. We stopped on the way home & I still ate like a horse. I called Dot (the nurse) the next day & she said ," Just come back next Monday & get another fill". That was not an option since I live 230mi. away from the clinic..(gas being sooo cheap & all) Anyway, She said , I should have seezed when she put so much in so fast..But I didn't. It didn't seem to help at all. What would be the deal ? Does anybody have a clue ?

I don't Jill but sure am glad to see you on the forum again.  Let me know what you find out.  Sounds like you need to make another trip even tho I know how expensive and inconvenient it is.  I haven't lost any weight for a couple of months but seem to be losing a couple inches here and there.  I admit I cheat a bit but really don't eat all that much.  I need to break this plateau!!

I guess I made everything .."Clear as mud". I Don't have the money to drive over 200 miles each week for a fill. If that is what you guys think..(that I just need more cc's..Then I guess I'll have to wait until the 1st Mon. in Oct. & keep my appt. with Holloway Thanks. Jill

Thanks Barb, How are ya do'en ? Well, I hope. I see you're going to a Support meeting in Kearney. That's good. I'm glad to see you going for support. Too bad I don't take my own advice .Huh ? I've been just discused with the whole thing right now. I'll get by though.  maybe when I go back to Dr. in Oct. The fill will be just the ticket.

I can see why you are disgusted with everything you have really been through a lot having to have your port redone and all that.   Maybe you can get a ride with someone else that is going, I don't know if anyone from the Kearney group is going in the near future or not.
I had an appt with my Dr. in Omaha to get a fill but had to postpone the date by two weeks, it would have been the day before we go on vacation and I didn;t want to get the fill and have problems like I did once.  So I will go the day we get back.

I seem to have hit a plateau , but at least I am not gaining.  It is great wearing capris,,,,,it has been years since I wore anything like that.   I even went out and bought a new swimming suit.

I kind of hurt my hip a little a couple weeks ago, so any weight bearing exercise is out for now...no more taking walks.  I need to get to the YMCA and see wha****er exercise classes they have so I can do that.

I have been going to Kearney but the next two months I will be gone......my daughter is taking me to Washington DC and West Virginia via Amtrak.  And then in October we will go to AZ to see my husband's sister and hopefully over to Las Vegas for a day to see our foster son.
I might try the Grand Island group especially during the winter months.  I don't like driving after dark.......and after the last meeting it got dark before I got home.  I really like the Kearney group..........they are as friendly as the Central City group.

Just keep your chin up and stay motivated...........

Thanks. Just got some really good news. You remember Gary from our group ? He had just told me, St E's(in Lincoln) had just become a "Center Of Excellance". So I called them & told them how hard it was for me to go out west for fills (hard on my car & purse). That assigned me to Dr.Hung. I go in for a fill on Wed. & they're going to transfer my records there & take over my care. I'm really excited. It will be sooo much closer & easier to get to.

That is great.  Was Gary able to get his surgery?  I often wonder about the people I met at the support group in Central City.
When I go to Omaha, I take the long way, I go on HWY 30, we used to live in Fremont, Ne and I drive through that town and then take a highway that takes me just north of Immanuel Hospt.  That way I don't have to drive too much in Omaha.  Plus it keeps me away from the malls.........helps on the $$$$$$.

I have been having some problems with acid reflux........thinking of calling my Dr.  this morning I coughed up little red flecks not sure if it was blood or my crystal light.   My husband told me I should not be drinking when laying down.  I keep a glass of crystal light on my night stand.  Maybe that is why I am doing this.  Who knows but think I will give Dr. White's office a call on Monday.
