Dr. Anthone?

Does anyone have any experiance with Dr. Anthone?  I am a band to DS revision and he came recommended by a friend of mine living in Nebraska? Thanks! Tammy

Hi Tammy, I don't know anything about Dr. Anthone but welcome to Nebraska. How long have you had your DS?  Have you found a  local support group? I can give you information about that. Let us know if you need any additional information.  Mona

Hi Mona.  No, I don't live in Nebraska.  I am thinking about flying out there for my revision surgery.  I have a really good friend who lives there who had DS surgery with him and really liked their experiance with Dr. Anthone so I thought I would find out some more info.  But for the record, right now I wished I lived in Nebraska. Tammy, I don't know Dr.Anthone, but I do know that we have a lot of really fine Bariatric Surgeons in Nebraska.  What surgery did you have and why are you thinking about revision?  Just know that I will be by your side though whatever you decide to do.  By the way I love the STARBUCKS QUEEN.

LOL.  I'm so addicted to Starbucks that I went and got a job there.  Anyway, I had lapband surgery and it worked really great until I got pregnant with my youngest and after he was born, it just quit working.  So now I'm getting it removed and having Duodenal Switch done.....that is my first choice.  If DS is out, then I will have RNY.  I'm just done struggling with my weight. By the way, I LOVE your user name too! T.

I had the RNY two years ago and I am happy with it.  But it requires work to keep the weight off just like all the procedures do.  But it is worth every bit of work.  I put on some and I needed to put on a little, but not as much as I did.  Now I am working at dropping about 25 pounds that I put on.  Everyone says that is too much, but without a goal, we do nothing.  I am addicted to coffee period.  That is my mainstay of life.  Hazel

Tammy -  Was your user name always Starbucks Queen?  I didn't recognize the name but recognized the photos of you being a tortured bandster.  I don't mean that disrespectful - just that I knew you were having tons of problems with the band and looking for a revision.

Hi Tammy,  I am new to this post but I'd like to answer your question.  I work as a surgical tech with Dr. Anthone.  He is very compassionate and professional with his patients.  I highly recommend him.  He will be doing my DS hopefully mid-January, insurance permitting!!  He is highly skilled and very knowledgeable about the DS.  I'm very sure you will be completely satisfied with him.  Good luck and keep me posted.  Susan

I had surgery with Dr. A on October and have absolutley nothing but positive things to say about him and the DS. His bedside manner is incredible, he is a personable guy, and takes all the time necessary to answer any questions you may have. I am four hours away from Omaha but literally only a phone call away from him. Dr. Anthone (himself) will return your calls and he is very accessable. He does firmly believe in making the littlest tummy possible and does leave a bit more common channel (mine is 200 cm, I told him I would be good with 300 cm, but he does know best). If you want any more info please feel free to PM me. IMHO you will not find a better surgeon (although there are many good surgeon's out there).
