Am I doing this right??

I had my lap band done Sept 29th and have had one fill.   When do I feel the restriction?  I have never had the "pain for eating too much or had any vomiting that I read about on other boards. l.   I do try to watch what I eat.  Protein first then veggies then fruits.  Except last night I tasted the green beans and ate them first they were so good.

This is scaring me I think I should feel like I am full.

I am not sure how much I should or should not be be eating.

Being  Thanksgiving today I am really worried.    I know I need to exercise.  I need a hip replacement  (have an appt Monday to get the surgery date scheduled) and so stuff like walking is very painful, I do walk as much as I can and I do climb stairs at work my office is upstairs 23 steps in all I count them everytime I go up and down.   This sounds lazy but I need to find some kind of exercises that I can do sitting down.  Any suggestions

I have lost some weight but not sure if it is enough for the time frame. Maybe I am just having a pity party day worring about all this stuff. Barb

Hi Barb, sometimes it takes a couple of fills before you feel restriction. Hang in there and it will happen. You could do some arm exercises in a chair so you don't aggravate your hip. Get a can of beans in each hand and do some arm curls. Sounds like you are making good choices in eating. Keep up the good work. Keep coming back for fills and you will get restriction. Good luck. Thank you for the suggestions.  My daughter bought me a set of weights ( 2 lbs) so I could do the arm curls with those while watching TV.

Hi Barb, When I had my band put in..my husband & I made a joke of it because I didn't feel any differently for awhile. WE joked "The doctor must have had a late night..went in & forgot what he was doing & forgot to put t/band in." But I'm here to tell you ..after a few fills you'll definatly know. I think t/most important rule is..eat when you're hungrey..and DON"T when you're NOT.!!  I never liked water..but now I drink lots.. I also feel that helps. Somestimes , I think I'm hungrey..but I'm really thirsty..Drink,drink,drink, My personal option..it will stop some of t/eating.Good luck at y/doctor.
