Hi, Mona! I am interested in going and am trying to talk DH into going with me. I think I pretty much have him convinced, plus, I really don't want to go by myself. Can I sign up and then pay when I get there or do I have to do that all up front?

Well, I didn't really get to formally meet you but I did get to go and I am so glad that I did! Going to the seminar helped reassure me in having the lap-band procedure done and since my husband attended the seminar with me, he is also more understanding of the procedure and the lifetime changes that it requires me to make. I will be honest and say that he wasn't real thrilled about going to the seminar with me. He didn't think it was really that necessary for him to go. But I told him that I needed him to go in support for me...that even though I was the one undergoing this procedure, he would be affected by this and I just really needed him to be there to learn more about it with me. My sister had RNY done almost 5 years ago and my husband didn't like the idea of that procedure at all. So, I'll admit that at first, he was pretty reluctant in letting me talk to him about the lap-band. But he also knows the struggles that I have had, the health issues I deal with and such and because of his love and support for me, has gotten on board with this procedure. But I have to tell you the most surprising part of it all....during Dr. Holloway's speech on Living with Lap-Band, my husband actually leaned over to me and said, "Maybe this is something I should look into having this done, too." And, he also told me how other family members of mine who have even more serious health issues than what I have should possibly look into having it done. And it's not like I am wanting to set any trends at all because this procedure definitely and absolutely isn't one of those, "everybody's doing it" sort of thing....I just worry about their health and know that probably most of their health issues are caused from obesity and it scares me. It's actually out of fear for my own life and the future that I have that has brought me here. And I am so glad that there are such supportive people out there. Going to the weight loss summit definitely made a difference for me.It was SO worth it! :)
