Hi Linda, welcome to the group. Congratulations on your decision  to have surgery. The nice part about laparascopic surgery is that it's a little easier to recover from. Everyone recovers differently. Good luck in your journey. Mona

Hello--welcome to the boards. I can tell you are frustrated with the Doctors and I I don't quite understand yoru post, but if your oxygen is only at 56%. then it probably would be unsafe to have surgery until that is better. Do you have lung problems or smoke?? I guess your surgeon will need to assess your health to see what is best for you. I wish you wll hope everything turns out the way it is supposed to. Blessings to you, Chris C

i sorry i seemed so up set but it has taken a year to be aproved for lap band but they  said i had 60 day days to have it done   and now having to see all the doctors you have to. seems like this lung doctor is making it seem like it wont happen at all i know i have to  be safe before i can do this but  is holding up this proess has every one had   a sleep studyor beathing test   before a lap band?  you know    the test that they give  you at the lung doc you blow in the tube thing  mine was 56% and  the other reading was 53 not sure what that was  i have not smoked in 10 years but did have 35lbs weight gain in five months  so far  have lost ten lbs      of  that senice march it was  meds i was on for blood sugar doc said stop   so i think my real problem is weight   thats causing this lung thing and reflux makes it hard to breath so times to but think im doing ok  just venting alittle  thanks for the reponse linda

Hi Linda I too am fairly new to the boards. I have been trying to get approved for surgery for three years. I am now disabled and will qualify through Medicare. It's been a long road. I had to go through all the testing you mentioned , sleep study, lung doctor, test for acid reflux all that stuff. I guess it's better to be safe than sorry. I also am hoping to have the lap band surgery. I am waiting on final word from Dr. Holloways office. I pray everyday that this will all come through this time. Good luck and I will talk to you soon
