Is there a certain amount of weight I should be losing on a weekly basis after my surgery? I am 16 days post-op and have only loss 10 lbs. Am I being too anxious? What is the normal amount of weekly weight loss should I expect? Before the surgery I never weighed myself on a normal basis. How often should I weight myself? I go in for my first fill on 6/20. I guess I'm just so eager to loss this weight I need to be more patient... I must admit, physically, I do look thinner - or at least that's what my husband is saying

Hi Tammie, congratulations on your weight loss so far. You probably gained about 5 or so pounds from all the IV fluids you got while you were in the hospital. You only need to weigh yourself once a week. You will drive yourself crazy weighing daily. Weigh yourself in the morning, naked and bladder empty. That will give you a clear picture of what your true weight is. It took a long time for you to get to your starting weight. It will take time to get it off. You are doing great. As long as you are losing weight, doing no vomiting and getting full on a small amount of food you are doing what you need to do. Hang in there. It will come off. Mona

Thanks for the encouragement!!! I spoke to my nurse and she said the same thing. I was weighing myself on a different scale than usual. Tammie
