I have just had my port repaired for the 2nd time. And am at a standstill with my losing weight. In fact I have gained. So, my question is, what would be a good meal menu for breakfast, lunch and supper?? even after the swelling has gone down and I am back to whatever normal is. Husband wants to control what I eat and when. The pre op handout is very general on what to eat. Any help I could get would be great. I am frustrated and getting cranky. Marilyn

Hi Marilyn, it is tough when your hubby feels he has to be the" food police". Eat off of a salad plate. Make sure you are making good food choices with low fat and low carbs. A chef's salad with lots of veggies and grilled chicken or other grilled meat. High fiber foods such as shredded wheat or oatmeal are also good choices. The dense food will stay in your pouch longer to keep you satisfied longer. I eat a hamburger patty, green beans and some grapes. If I am still hungry, I eat some sugar free jello with some fat free cool whip. You also might check out the lap band forum. You can get other great suggestions there. Hang in there. Mona
