Fluid out of band...sniff..

Well after having several and i mean several weeks of thinking: i had acid reflex.....I went to see Dr and they took out .2 from my 2.2 cc band on monday thinking this would do the trick so I wouldnt have fluids come up in my sleep...but no such luck so Doug and I went to SB on Wed and results from upper GI said my esophagus was dilated and the band was so tight that things were just trickling through. So needless to say they empied me....as soon as the esophagus gets back to normal we will do a fill. I have had 2.2 in for the last 4 years with great success. Oh well, one minor set back wont kill me. At least I can sleep at night! And the funny thing is when Dot took it out she said,"by 5 this afternoon you will be starving!!" I answered, "no, I wont" and the great thing is.... I'm not hungry, seems and I eat ruffly 4 oz. at a time like I did with my fluid in. Just pray for me this last till I can get filled again. I WILL BE PRAYING FOR YOU BETH!!!! I SHOULD TELL YOU THAT I WENT TO A PSYCHOLOGIST AND HE IS GOING GIVE ME THE OKAY TO HAVE THE LAP BAND SURGERY...NOW ALL I HAVE TO DO IS WAIT FOR MEDICAD TO APPROVE AND GET MY DATE... amy corter

Beth: Sorry to hear you're having problems. But it seems that it's getting addressed and taken care of. and you'll be "back" in no time. Let that esophagus heal up, and get happy! Also, thanks for all your encouragement. As you know my surgery got cancelled due to Dr. Holloway breaking his elbow (OUCH!), but the update is, my new surgery date is March 1st (for the work-up) and March 2nd at 7:30 AM I'll be part of the BAND!
