hello from southwest nebraska

Just wanted to stop and say hello to everyone, I am in Chase Country in SW Neb and am just starting the process of the lapband. I have insurance that should cover it, but I am just getting my paperwork together to go to the preop seminar and meet Dr. Forney for the first time. Just looking to see how everyone is doing and what things you can tell me to help the process. Hope that everyone has a great year! Cindy

Hi Cindy, I'm doing just fine today as everyday...I'm over 4 years out and couldnt be better! Dr. H. is the best Dr. I was one of his first 100 banders in 02 and he and his crew are the best! Be sure to get started in support meetings they are a must for successssss. later, Beth in North Platte

Well hope everything is going good for you. I had the lapband surgery in June of 2005 down 112 pds. I believe there is a few that have had the surgery done that live in your community. I have met Kim and knowing her she would be great help and support and would be able to answer any questions you might have . You also have a great year . jimmy

Thanks so much everyone! I have my first appt. set for Feb 12th and am so excited for it to get here. If everything falls into place, and a big if at that, but I am wondering what kind of time line I am looking at from the insurance approval to surgery? I am guessing that the approval should be maybe 1month?? then how soon do they normally able to get someone scheduled? Should I be thinking March or maybe later? This seems like yrs but my guess is that it is going to go real fast :haha: I hope to be around here to check in with everyone on a regular basis, and hope to meet some of you sometime.

Hi Cindy! I hope your process goes smoothly. Mine was a 3 month process. Could have been shorter, but I had it in Dec 05 and everyone is trying to get surgey in by the end of the year. I also started with Dr. Forney, I didn't know what kind of surgery would be best for me. I ended up with the Lap Band and am so thankful for it! I',m 13 months postop, down 80 pounds and almost 4 months pregnant. I wish you the best!! Jess 253/173/140 maintaining for 4 months now!!
