Hi everyone! I am new to this site and have just made the decision to get WLS. I have my pulmonary workup on monday, but i still have a lot of questions! I would really like to hear from people who are still waiting for their surgery and see how they are handling their anticipation and those who have had the surgery and how they felt after. I guess i am most concerned about complications( isn't everybody? )since there is so much information out there. I would also like to hear personal experiences from local people about their surgeon, hospital stay, life at home immediately following post op, etc. I know most of you have already been reading and hearing about this stuff, but i am still a newbie and would appreciate any insights on the whole thing. thanks a lot! :help:

Hi Christina, Welcome to OH !!! I am pre-op, with a surgery date of November 29th. My surgeon is Dr. Sudan, and the hospital is Creighton Medical. How am I handling the anticipation ?? I feel like sometimes I'm going but they tell me that is normal !! Happy one minute, sad the next, and a biatch the next..... at first I thought it was the menopause thing..... noooo everyone gets like this. But, even thru all these emotions, I know that I am choosing the right path. Keep me posted on how you're doing, and if I can help with anything, I'm just a message or email away. You will find so much valuable info here and the people are just great !! Huggs & Blessings, Lori

Hi Christina, Welcome to the group. What procedure are you having done? I had my lap band procedure done in Scottsbluff. Dr. Holloway has done many bands and bypasses. Let us know what questions you have. Mona

Hon, where are you from. As far as im concerned Scottsbluff NE is the only place to go! They have dont over 700+ bandings since 2002.

Welcome Christina, I had rny surgery with Dr. Goering in Grand Island, he and his staff are wonderful. No complications whatsoever. Would do it over in a minute if needed. Lost 150 lbs, lordy... a whole person. The first couple weeks were up and down lots of happiness and tears, very emotional. Life at home is great, hubby is super. I can only give praise for this surgery it saved me. I weighed 312 pounds the day I went in and was scared beyond compare. BUT...I new in my heart it was the thing for me. Read and learn everything you can and don't be afraid to ask any question. It s the only way we learn. Rhonda 312/162

Christina - I am right there with you girl. I have recently decided to have the WLS and am scared to death about it! I'm attending a seminar tonight with Dr. Sudan and will attend a seminar January 3 with Dr. White. I'm hoping it makes me feel better about this whole thing. I'm just a complete nervous wreck! Good luck to you and keep us posted as you progress towards your surgery.Take care and God Bless!
