anyone have a lap band?

Hello! I am new to OH. I live in Lincoln and Dr Hung is my surgeon. I am impatiently working on getting my pre-op appointments completed. I'm wondering if there are any other Lincolnites on this board who have the band. I am excited about getting banded and losing weight, but nervous at the same time. I'd love to hear from fellow Huskers!!

Hi Holly, I was #2 patient to get a lap-band in Lincoln. I would be happy to answer any questions and share my experience with you. Also you will learn a lot when you attend a preop group at St. Elizabeth. Lisa and myself do pre-op group the first Thursday of every month. Next one is 11/2 at 4:00pm. This is a good place to get questions answered and meet other weight loss surgery patients. There are close to 100 bands in Lincoln now! Good luck with your process! Shelly

Hi Holly - I actually just had the lap band done last Monday (10/16)-a day before my birthday! I'd love to hear from you - I know the frustrations on working on getting approved and getting appointments done. I had to wait almost 7-8 months before my insurance would approve it. It's exciting and so far it's been a great experience. T

Hi Holly, I'm in the same boat as you - getting all the pre-op appointments done. I am also getting the band and will be attending the pre-op meeting in Lincoln 11/02. Its nice to see that someone else is going through the same experiences. Feel free to contact me and we can be nervous together.

Hang in there before you know it all of your test will be done . I'am from North Platte But keep us inform of your results.
