I haven't been around for awhile. Things really went south for my daughter. I got a call to go to the hospital last Wednesday. Frostie had a blood clot in her leg (the day before they said it was a torn ligiment and started Physical Therapy) and that she would probably lose her leg, that is if she made it through the surgery alive. If that isn't far enough south, She had a stroke the night before. They sent her to Nebraska Heart Institute Hospital in Lincoln. There all hell broke loose. They wen't in to try and remove the blood clot in her leg and couldn't. Oh by the way she had a blood clot in her heart too. They did a esopical echo and not only did she have a blood clot in her heart, she had a tumor in another lobe of her heart. They took her down to do emergency surgery to remove the clot from her leg. While they were trying to remove that one, she formed three more. She was with in mins of loseing her leg. But they go the clot out and blood flow restored, and now we just pray that the blood flow continues. Her leg started swelling so bad that they were afraid that the pressure would start killing tissue again. The next morning they took her into a second emergency surgery. they made incisions in the leg to allow for swelling from the surgery they night before. They did a triple by-pass and open heart surgery to remove the tumor. She is doing very well considereing all she has been through. She goes into surgery tomorrow to remove a chest tube. Then in a few days she will go to Madonna. She will be there for 6 to 8 weeks at least. It has been a hard week. Hazel
