Good morning
Hi how is everyone doing? We really enjoyed the trip to Gering. I'm sorry I did not catch the names of the ladies Behind us. But you gave us really good advice on getting back to I-80. Thanks that was so much better. You guys from North Platte are such a lively group. To bad I'm so far from there for Support groups. The Colo. Springs group was really good to. I really learned a lot from the meeting. Hope to go back to Colorado next year.
Sinse i'm on can I address a problem I am having, I am having a hard time loosing weight. I haven't lost in about 6 weeks. My surgery was Jan 9,2006 so I am really not that far out. I have lost 70 lbs. It has really been a slow loss. Is there something more I need to do?? Any advice would help.
Thanks,
Tina (Omaha)
Tina, I had my surgery in Jan, 2005. I remember about 8 months out or so it did slow down alot, but then after a couples months it started again. I think our bodies have to catch up. You can try upping the protein alos and maybe the excercise. although I am horrible at the excercise thing! I still eat 2 protein bars a day and drink one to two shakes a day, too. I am a year and 7 months out. I am finally maintaing really well, Doc says to stop where I am. I am 5' 8" and now weigh 162 lbs. I eat meat, veggies and fruit everyday. Plus some sugar free chocolate when I get the urge for something sweet. I average around 1600 to 1800 calories a day. I know that sounds like alot, but I eat so much healthier now. Wish I could have done it before.

Hello Tina,
Good evening I'am doing good and we did enjoyed our selves in Gering and had a good time and learn alot . I do admire all of you from the Omaha area and Jean in Grand Island for driving all the way to Gering it show us that you all are dedicated to the journey. We will be in Colorado next year but less all keep in touch now and share any ideas or thoughts. I hope you can start losing again don't get discourage just hang in there you are probally losing inches. Well time to go for now. Until later jimmy
Tina - Everyone has given you ideas, sorry but I don't have any. I just wanted to tell you not to give up as well. I have had a few plateus, but your body will start to move again. Let me know what happens.
I work with a gal that is post-op over 2 years and has been stuck without losing. She has lost under 100#'s and is discouraged. Another Dr. White patient. She freely admits to me that she isn't working the program and it's her own fault. It's hard to encourage her when she admits it's her fault. I'm going to tell her to visit the NE forum. She needs help that I just can't provide, but maybe she will post or at least read. Keep a smile your going to get through this!
