I'm stuck
3 weeks ago my surgeon told me to increase my carbs to 90 a day and my calories to 1000 per day. I am 5 months post op and have lost 100 pounds up to this point. In the past 3 weeks I have actually gained 2 pounds and now I feel like a cow.
What levels are your doctors telling you at 5 months post op? This is totaly depressing me.
Don't panic.... every weight loss has a speed bump. Your body is probably trying to catch up to what you did.... Imagine all those cells, going.... heh we have never lost weight like this before, what do you think she is up to? My weight loss stalled a couple times, but then would pick up again. Remember 100 pounds is a lot of weight, think of your students. I would imagine how many first graders I lost... would get me laughing just thinking about it. Breathe in, breathe out. Betty in NP
I will trade you, the fill in nut for Dr. Sudan told me, 2 months out that I am,that I should be getting 1200 calories a day and 300 calories from carbs. I am waiting for her to pull her head out of her butt and for someone down there to find me a nut that knows what the heck they are talking about. On the up side, the nut for Dr. White told me don't even try for those numbers till a year out. Where were you at 2 months?
2 months ago I had lost 80 pounds and was consuming less than 40 carbs and about 600 to 700 calaries per day. So I went another six weeks at that and lost an additional 20 pounds. Then was told to increase and froze. I know that 20 pounds per month is supposed to be a good weight loss but realistically I could have done that without the surgery. That is the most frustrating part of all of this. The biggest advantage to the surgery is that overeating or eating too fast becomes very painful.
I went back to my original feeding schedule after posting the original message and I am happy to report that I lost the few pounds I had gained plus and additional couple. I am now at 103 pounds lost and hopefully will continue to loose. Try returning to what you know works for your body.
How many of these doctors/dietitians have walked in our shoes? I appreciate what they do for us in general but my biggest pit-peeve in life has always been some skinny minnie who has never been more than 10 pounds over weight telling me how to get thin. That goes for friends and family too.
