I Am In A Funk! Don't Know How To Get Out Of It!

Hello everyone! I went to Weigh****chers over the weekend and have now lost 33 lbs in 7 weeks! I graduated from college a couple of weekends ago with an Associates in Paralegal. I should be extremely happy, and truly looking forward to my future. Which deep down I truly am. looking forward to my much brighter and "lighter" future. But for whatever reason, I can't. I am in a funk, all I want to do is cry, but I can't. I am sleeping well my eating is so-so. Most days I do pretty well, but today I had no desire to eat. I finally made a protein shake and drank some of that this afternoon. I also went for a walk this morning and then another one this evening. A friend cooked for me, and I was able to eat a small piece of meatloaf, and some mashed potatoes. They were awesome, and the meatloaf did not make me sick. I just wish that I could do something about how I am feeling or at least understand why it is that I am feeling this way. I normally get more emotional about the time of my cycle, but it's not time for that just yet. Has anyone else ever had feelings like this? And if so what did they do to improve or make it better. Or a way to avoid it or keep it from happening so often. Thanks for any thoughts or inputs. Lori

Hi Lori, I really don't have any magic words of wisdom for you, but look at what you've been though in the past 2 months. School. Surgery. Major life changes. Perhaps you really need some time to rest and recuperate. Be good to yourself - do some pampering. You deserve it! One day at a time. Usually when I get bogged down, I'm stressing too much - worrying about things that may never happen. Celebrate all you have accomplished and maybe find a way to help someone else. Nothing feels better to me than helping someone else. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. Janet

Lori. I agree with Janet. You have experienced alot in your life in a short time. Congratulations by the way for obtaining some real positives in your life. My perception is that we all go through difficult times emotionally related to lots of different things in our lives. For me I can go through the stress and many changes like a trooper and then I seem to really deal with it about 2-3 months down the road. For me I have to allow myself time and processing. Feeling my feelings and figuring out what I am feeling. Not always easy. Hang with those that can support you and allow you to be where you are for now. If you don't feel better soon, consider talking to someone you can feel safe with and trust. This will pass and the funk will gradually lift. Ask for strength and guidance each morning and hopefully you will begin to feel a difference. Thanks for your honesty. Shelly
