So much depends on the horse, and if it is solidly built, how big it is, etc. it is hard to say. A big Percheron work horse could handle alot, a normal quarterhorse,  hard for me to say. I guess if you have a horse, talk to the vet and see what they say!

Hi Ashlie, I love horses, but my weight has kept me from getting on a horse for many years. I'm looking forward to riding again! Best of luck with your surgery!

So how is everyone doing? N2B here I guess., Well lately I have been kinda worried. Its like I eat and eat and eat and NEVER EVER GET FULL anymore! Before I would eat get full and then I am done but, now I am gaining weight like CRAZY and am NOT GETTING FULL?!?!? WHATS WRONG? (*have NOT had surgery yet!*) Also how much weight do you think would be to much for an horse to carry?.....200....250....300?  I have heard alot of things from different people and I know all about the 20% rule or whatever but, I am just wondering what you all think. Let me know! THANKS!!!

Yeah, I had a lot of trouble with getting my water in...even now I struggle with it. When I'm at work I can get it all in but at home things get in the way and I just plain forget to eat and drink sometimes! And I still have trouble eating to fast...and lately I notice I let my self get to full...I need to go back to eating till I'm satisfied and not "full" if that makes sense. I don't want to stretch my pouch after all the hard work I've put in. Keep up the good work

Hello!! I am scheduled for RNY at Medcenter with Dr. Bruderer. I fought for a year to get here (approved by ins. etc).

I have been taking the Centrum chewables I can get at Walmart. THey are orange flavored, and really not too bad!  The chalkiness isn't too bad, but I think that it would be hard to find anything that didn't have some.  I'm still in search of protien options. I haven't had a chance to check much on those. What do you use? What should I avoid? Thanks!

I just bought some eggs last night, looking forward to them for lunch.  I don't think there is really alot of difference, other than the absorbsion (sp?) between the band and RNY. Still has a small pouch and hole, and protien and all are just as important.  Chewing is going to be an issue I have to concentrate on, along with drinking water, because I don't do enough of either. I guess I'll learn my lesson if I don't, so I'd rather not learn the hard way! Thanks for the ideas!
