Those are a couple of symptoms I have when I get Hypoglycemic, but I haven't had the flu since the surgery. I can't help you other than that. Hope you are feeling better now!

I have not ridden for years but we have 3 horses and 2 ponies. Hubby and kids ride. I can't wait to ride again when I get into better health and lose weight.

Keep up the hope. My first insurance company kept putting me off, and we finally changed insurance company and they approved me right away. So don't be disappointed, keep on trying even if they don't do it right away. Just keep using my montra "It will all be worth it!"

GREAT JOB!! You are doing great by losing 30lb is 6 short weeks. I hope to be on the lapband wagon soon.  I called the insurance company and they said that they have all the paperwork and that I should check back next weeks and they may have a answer.  Jean from the clinic thinks we will have to appeal because i haven't had enough complication for long enough.  I'm still hoping that i call them on Monday and they say "Yep you are approved".  I'm just trying to not get my hopes up too much :-)

Hi, I'm Bruce from Bismarck. I grew up around horses but don't plan to have any. I visit them at a sibling's place. You could say I'm in recovery from horses! :)

Topic: Had my 1 month checkup
Had my appointment yesterday (4th) and all went well. I found out it was likely ham that was giving me a problem (pain, etc) rather than the crackers I thought might have caused it. Got the "water, water, water" lecture from the dietician and the physician's assistant. Maybe I need to tie a bottle around my neck, I just am not a drinker of anything, other than a cup of coffee first thing, and I used to drink a glass of milk with my meals, can't do that now. The area around my port is still tender and swollen, so I didn't get a fill at this point. Plus, I've only been eating around 3/4 cup and feeling full, so they think my band may already have had some saline in it. Not supposed to be that way, but they say it happens.  They also said I'd done extremely well, having lost 30+ lbs in 6 weeks (2 weeks pre op and 4 post).  Now I need to keep going!

I haven't been on a horse in probably 20 years, mainly because of my size. My hubby knows I love horses, and wants to get a pair so we can go riding, but I keep telling him we need to wait until I lose some of my weight, because the horse and I will both be more comfortable! I've got a long way to go before I'm ready. THen I'll probably have to relearn how to ride!

Hiya Ashlie I'm 34 and have my second appointment with my weight lost Dr on Monday for my test and all the fun stuff they are going to do so that i can the lap-band.  When i was growing up i spent most of my time on one of my horses.  But after school I found that i didn't the time to ride and then came the weight.  I rode about 4 years ago and had such a problem with my knees hurting that i haven't dared get back on.  So hopefuly after the weight lost i am able to enjoy riding again.

I would think it was depend on the size of the horse.  I myself have been on a horse in years because the one my family had were smaller.  They now have a huge tennessee walker but I want to wait until I get banded and lose at least 75 lbs before I try to ride.
