Ok, folks, we have found a number of us from Williston on this board, and it has been mentioned we should try to get together and do a support group. I understand at one time there was a group that Dr. Bruderer had put together, but it fell apart.

I'm thinking we need an informal group to just get together, have some fun, and pick each other's brains and offer support as we make this journey. None of us is an expert, and we still suggest consulting the pros on some stuff, but we can help each other out when we can!

So my next question is, what kind of schedule do you have that would allow you to meet? We can get together when the majority can be there, and maybe switch off now and then so others can join us. What works for you?

I'm pretty flexible, I set my own hours most of the time, so let's here from the rest of you!

Support group meeting in Fargo this eve. Was a real open forum with lots of new faces and lots of questions asked and answered.

For those that don't make it to the Fargo meetings, I am sorry. I may never get to meet you! LOL

I am betting the farther out a person is the less they go. I am still not at that stage and can't even think of what it would be like to just walk away from it. It will be a part of the tool we were given.

Maybe I am wrong but I am going to make it my thing(don't wanna say goal) to go to the group meetings to share and hear other stories on how things were for others. That will be my good deed..there ya have it I found a name for it LOL

Val...We've probably never met but I know you from your workings with the city, etc. We probably know some of the same people.  And don't talk about "old" brains, I'm  older than you I know but that's just my outer "wrappings".

Hahaha.....So I'm being sneaky.  I will probably put a pic on here after I get further along in this new process of changing my life forever.   I would love to get into a casual informal group. I think it would be very helpful.

Hi Val....Yes, I am from "Willyville"....Grew up here, went to school here, married here and moved away for 20 years and then moved back again and have been here ever since.  My hubby and I are driving to Bismarck on Tuesday the 26th for my first initial contact with a surgeon and their bariatric team etc.  I will know more after that .  The Closet Connection in MInot is west of TARGET in a little strip of businesses.  It is almost next door to the BLIMPIES sandwich shop.
I think you will be impressed.  They take nice brand name clothing and are pretty fussy about what they will consign. 
I am leaning towards the RNY procedure, Val.  I will post more info next week.
By the way, did your maiden name start with a "G"?
