There's not much I can say about this as I haven't had the surgery yet and will not know for awhile when I will have it but I am willing to wait until there's a better time for us to get something going. I know of a few people that have had this surgery but they do not know that I know.....you know???? hahaha and I don't feel I would approach them as they may be private people. As long as I know that there are those of you out there that are interested in getting together I am sure it will happen sooner or later. Good luck with the moving Val. I am happy for you. It has to be exciting moving to a new house in spite of all the darn work it takes. Also sorry that you have had "alot on your plate" lately. I'm sure it's been stressful for you.

I know its easy to be afraid of an RNY, but I didn't like some of the issues that 'band' patients told me about in a support group session today. Both types have benefits and drawbacks, but you have to decide what works for you. For me, it was hands down, RNY, and glad I had it. I can eat pretty normally (smaller portions of course), but have lost 110# and have had no problems in almost the two years since I had it. I would do it again tomorrow if I knew that I was going to drop from a 41 BMI to a 19.5 (124#). Don't let limited information influence you, let your doctor guide you.

Thanks Andrea. I'm glad you are home and healing. It is so neat that I can "talk" to someone that has just had surgery by the same surgeon that I will talk to on the 23rd. I hope I get a date soon and can start this journey.

Sorry you are having troubles :( If I wasnt so fresh out I would set something up..we will just have to pick a spot to meet one evening..and can organize something more formal if enough people show interest maybe.

I also thought this would be a slow process..BUT I started my process in June and had surgery by September 8th!! Once you see Bruderer and all your results are in they will call you in for an appt which must be your Sept 23rd appt. Then you will wait a week or so for your insurance approval..after that its really quick. Start your protein suppliments now that will also speed things up.

This morning I spent having my psych evalutation done. 
About 2 hours later I was done.
Now to drive to Bismarck Sept. 23rd to meet face to face with my surgeon. Things are going too smoothly....something must be wrong....LOL. I am hoping to have had the surgery and on the mend by November which is my Bday.
I will post again when I receive a Surgery date.
