Kelly,

I'm sorry you are having such a rough time and hope you start feeling better soon.  As for Calcium i found that walmart has a really good chewable one that comes in a yellow bag and is carmel flavor (yummy).  I have never been good getting in my calcium so after i had my band surgery i started taking these and it's like a piece of candy.  I take one in the morning when i get up in the morning and then in the evening if i didn't have any milk product during the day.  I will have to say that sence taking the calcium my nails have never been stronger.

Good luck and get well

Doing a 24 hr hold on meds. Were thinking I have an allergic reaction to the calcium citrate. Tomorrow (Thursday) I will be re-starting the meds and see which one makes me sick. Almost positive its that one. They will then have to find a different calcium source for me. I am sick of being sick!
Thanks for checking in

Wow Kelly, I had not heard that you got re-admitted and had to have another surgery.  I am glad you are doing better.  So you had a rough start, maybe everything else will be golden from here.  I had a terrible time taking pills/vitamins for quite a while - maybe 3-4 months.  I always would take them at the sink because many times they came right back up.

I have no problem with them now, so this too shall pass.

Hahaha....You're just too cute, "Beulah Babe".  What time is your appointment?
My daughter in law has a sister and family that live in Beulah.  In fact, she had surgery (not WLS) yesterday at St. A's yesterday and she and my son will probably stop in Beulah on their way back to Williston tomorrow or the next day. I am not short....average, I suppose at 5'7"  I'll keep my eye out for you.  What is your first name so I don't have to ask every one I see if they are: "Curiousmommy".  hahaha   They may think I'm a little strange????!!!!????
Isn't this site fun?

I am from Beulah.  So, i am sure will just go to see him in bismarck for fills, that is if I ever get the band.  I have all my paperwork ready and I am just waiting for Tuesday its almost like the day will never come.  I just want to get this stuff off to insurance so i know if i am approved or not.
Having the band done is like the only thing I can think about lately. I have been using the time to try to raise money for procedure to pay for the cost insurance will not cover.  Between a rummage sale and ebay I have made a little over $600 so that excites me deeply.
My husband has to stay home to care for our daughter so I will be the short, fat, husbandless, girl.  I have no clue what I am going to wear that day but if I figure it out i will let you know.

Hi Curious Mommy.....My appt. with Dr. Bruderer is at 1:30 PM   Who knows, we might run into each other int the reception area?????  I am "older" and have blonde hair and a skinny hubby.  hahaha
I do not know which procedure  yet but will  choose after talking to the Doc.
I know people here that are on the "band wagon"  done by Dr. Schmit.  They can drive to Minot for their fills as Schmit goes there on a regular basis....I think that's what I heard.  Minot is almost 2 hours from Williston.  I am confused as which way to go and one day I am "Sure" that I will go with the band and then the next day I am "Sure" I will go with the Roux  n'  Y.  I'll sure be glad when next Tuesday is over with.  I have done everything that the Nurse told me to do so I will just wait and see the next step.  Good Luck on your Visit as well.

Ok,
I am guilty of lurking for the past few weeks. I read your posts and thoughts gather information and sit quietly.

As most know I had my surgery on 8/12 only to be put back in the hospital 15 days later with yet another surgery to repair my intestine that kinked, twisted, sucked back inside itself etc..
I have not recovered from that one yet!

I know not everything can have a fun/fairybook ending and I am not the textbook person as I hoped I could of been during this. LOL

I did return to work yesterday (9/15) and it kicked my arse!! Thought last night when I went to bed ok take a tylonol and take the edge off. Yeah right! 3 hrs later I am up puking meds! they are so bitter/nasty. I have no clue why I have this reaction. is it on a full tummy or an empty tummy?

Oh Doc will be getting a call today cuz I want some relief or off the ride so to speak LOL

Hope this finds everyone doing good, this is the end of the update LOL
