Keep an eye on your vits. How many flintstones do ya have to have per day? Was this one your choice or did they tell you that was what you needed to have? Yeah I know 20 questions LOL I was just curious, each program/doctor is so different.

Topic: 15 months later and my first "stuck" episode
Today I came home for lunch (never do that because I only have 30 minutes for lunch), and apparently tried to eat my lunch too fast.
I have never felt so awful in my life. It got to the point I couldn't even keep water down. I don't very often get sick, but man I was today. Needless to say I didn't go back to work.
I am better now, but the surgeon's office told me to eat soft/liquid for a day or so until my pouchie settles down. I was very scared, but doing well now.

It is awesome to not be in the "obese" category. Congrats to you. Have a great weekend in California. I love visiting California.
I am leaving for Boston on Saturday (for work), so I think your weather will be nicer than mine, but nonetheless Boston in October will probably be very pretty.

Hi Queenie.....I had to laugh at you when you said "fat" not "obese". There's something about the word "obese" that is so un appealing. First I was NORMAL, then OVERWEIGHT, then OBESE and then MORBIDLY OBESE. Man, that was when I knew I had really hit bottom!!
Have a wonderful and safe trip to California....You are evidently flying as you said "weekend". (I had to re-read your thread). I've only been to California once and that was a layover at the LA Airport waiting our flight to Hawaii back in 82'. (we took our kids, aged 17 and 14 at the time to Waikiki for a week) Loved it of course. Now the only place I've been traveling to lately is Bismarck for preparation for this surgery.

I didn't have Dr. Garcia for my surgery, but know several that have. He is a very good surgeon. He is the doctor *****leased me from the hospital after my surgery and he was very nice.
As far as the drink goes, this probably isn't protocol, but.....I had surgery July 2nd of 2007 and my son got married on September 1st. I did have a couple of glasses of wine at the wedding. I had asked prior to doing so, and was told it was OK but to try it at home first to see how you react to it.
You will feel the effects of the alcohol much much faster than ever before.

I am just wondering who all had Dr.Garcia from meritcare for their surgery? Also how long before a person can have a drink or two? My surgery is listed for Oct 22 and my 21st is on February 17th. Just wondering for some imput! Thanks!!!!

How is everyone doing?
I am under 200 pounds and weigh 193. I only have 12 pounds more to lose to just be "fat" and not obese. I feel great. I ran a 5K this past weekend - first one in over 7 years.
DH and I are leaving for a weekend in Calif tomorrow. I can't wait to see and smell the ocean again.

Sandy, not asleep - well not all the time - just busy.
I am glad you are excited. You should be. The waiting is hard but the end is well worth it. I am one year out from lap band surgery and couldn't be happier. I love this band.
I have great restriction and am an exercising fool.
Congratulations on getting your "orders" and keep us posted on how you are doing.

My Goodness.....North Dakota forum must be asleep or something. Nothing going on here? I can't believe that. Hope all is well with all that have had this wonderful surgery and that those waiting like me, are keeping busy and trying to make the time go by faster.
I received my written "orders" in the mail from Judy this afternoon and was told to start the multivitamins right away so I am chewing my Flintstone right now.
