Topic: Beulah Babe Banded
HI all!!
I visited here awhile back before getting approved & getting my lapband. There was not much going on over here so I kinda stopped checking.
I thought I would update everyone on how I am doing. I had my surgery on 12/11. At that time i weighed 212 after loosing 22 lbs the 2 weeks preop. Since then I am down 41 lbs & ever so happy. I am not skinny by no means but I feel good. Thats truly what I wanted was to feel good & to get healthy.
I currently dont have restriction but hoping that will change on Tuesday when I get my 2nd fill. the weather has been so horrible that every time I have an appointment I have to reschedule (they only do fills on monday/tuesdays).
I am mostly proud of myself. Without restriction I have been determined to eat healthy. I have had some bumps along the way but overall done an amazing job. My biggest change ever is thath I work out 3-4 days a week at the gym. I easily spend an hour there during cardio & weights.

Not too far from the wonderful "ONE-DERLAND". What a trip! Some of my clothes are hanging but I will not buy anything new for another 30-40 pounds. I should be looking like the town's "Baggy Lady" by then I would think. FUN FUN FUN.

Hey Lori. How are you? It is very encouraging to hear they will cover it. I have Keystone HP East and would love it if they covered it. THey are one of the Blues so maybe they will. Lety me know how you make out.

Topic: Finally got MeritCare's surgery price quote for DS
I expected that it would be in the low $20ks, hoping for upper teens. Nope. $24k - $27k with no complications & other program requirements (psych eval, nutritional classes, dr appts, etc) NOT covered. This is with the new surgeon, Matthew Fabian. I figured he would be cheaper due to less experience. Who knows? It's his fee, the anesthesiologists, & the hospital all in one.
It took the lady 4 weeks to get the info together for me. Thank good God that I didn't wait for that!
I should be getting my surgery date for Dr. Ungson in Mexico tomorrow for ALL TOGETHER $14k & unlike Dr. Fabian who has ZERO unsupervised experience with the DS, Dr. Ungson has done hundreds. Literally hundreds.
End of rant . . . & I'm excited about my upcoming surgery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About time I get on here and catch up huh? Must have needed to wait as I'm having a crabby day thinking about in laws. Wonderful woman, Angel! Wow am I special or what? Ditto! We got pretty lucky to be going through this journey together.
Had a little bit of a scare last week. Had some diarrhea and then light headedness, but alls good this week and I see Dr. Garcia tomorrow.
