Gretchen...I am soooo happy for you!!  Wow!!  What a wonderful feeling isn't it?  I have 33pounds to lose to get to Dr.s goal and I hope I can do that by the time early summer gets here.  I feel great and cannot believe I'm doing the ordinary little things that I was unable to do 76 pounds ago.  I'm 66 years "young" but feel like I'm in my 40's again.  WLS ROCKS!!
Enjoy your hard work results Gretchen .  Just think how you're going to feel and look this summer!!  WOW!!   Keep posting and let us know how you are doing.  I post mostly on the Over 50 yrs. age Forum but check this ND often and Tinker is so good about posting.   There are others that post too but not often.
People are busy and I realize that but I like to know how all my ND WLS people are doing.

I know this is hard for you. I know this is late, I missed your post!

A couple things to remember and maybe this aids in the issue.
When taking an antibiotic avoid caffeine and dairy products as much as you can. I know that we need these for our levels. However, the dairy products kind of make the antibiotic useless so to say. It weakens the effect.

I only know this because I am taking one right now for a UTI.grrrrrr
I also have been removed from my vitamins for 5 days while on the antibiotic because the vitamins etc.. attach to the antibiotic and once again make them kind of useless to do their job.

Your really struggling with a lot of issues and your in my thoughts! I hope things get easier soon for you. It just sucks

Best wishes

Congrats on a job well done!

You have the same attitude as me. The doc says 150 for goal. That is only another 4.5 pounds. My problem is that will still have me as being over weight. I have worked to hard to still be listed as over weight.

No way in heck will I settle for that. I do not plan on having any plastics done, so I figure I can safely get down to 130-135. That is my goal, I am sure I will get flamed from Surgeon and NUT for this but, that's my doing.

Besides there is the "kick back" pounds to take in too! They say that can be around 15 to 20 pounds. So, if that is true and I took off the extra pounds it will land me where the doc wanted me in the first place LOL

Best of everything to you!
Kelly/tink

p.s I agree this board is to slow- I try to keep it going.  Everyone has the same attitude lol.  It is like hitting your head against the wall.

I don't post on the ND board often... we move too slow here!  But... just wanted to gloat:

I have reached my initial goal of losing 100 pounds.  Actually, as of this morning it was 101.  Less than 9 months ago, I started out at 265 lbs, (I'm a shorty, so that put my BMI at 49) and now I am 164 with a BMI of 29.9!  When I first started looking at WLS, getting to this point was my "pie in the sky" goal.  Now?  I'm wondering how much further I can take this without plastics.... To be a normal BMI, I'd be in the 135 range.  That's less than 30 lbs away... totally doable, I would think, except for the flappy skin that might not go away.... I dunno.  We'll see where I land.  Everything after this is a bonus prize.

I just want to add that this journey has been nothing but smooth sailing.  Not a single unpleasant side effect.  I LOVE my sleeve.  I truly hope that more people in this area will look at this surgical option; it is absolutely wonderful.

Here's my before and after pics.... the first one was taken last April.  the second one was taken when I was 98 lbs down so it's pretty close to where i am now.

It will happen as soon as the roads are clear! I called merit care today just to ask a question about support group and the lady answering the phones told me staff should/shall be back on Thursday. If that is an indicator of when you can start thinking about when the calls will start coming in to reschedule surgeries. Wishing you the best while you wait. Now you have time to take and write down all your measurements from neck to ankles so you can keep track while on your journey.  Organize some of your bigger pictures so you can start a photo book of your journey. Those couple of things you will find valuable later down the road. Don't be sorry later that you didn't do it.
Keep us posted,

Still no surgery.  Just sitting at home waiting for the phone to ring and obsessively watching the news and MeritCare's website for any news that they are back in full operation.  I am grateful that my surgery was canceled as that ended up being the day they evacuated.  I feel like I have lost my focus.  I had been on Optifast for 6 weeks.  I went off of it over the weekend as I just lost my drive from the stress of the setback.  I ate carefully but didn't have the shakes.  Am back on them today in case I could get rescheduled again soon.  I tend to focus on one thing at a time.  It seemed my whole life had been focused on taking weight off and preparing for this surgery.  Since my surgery got cancelled I feel like I have been just wandering around the house wondering what to do with myself.  The weather doesn't help.

Topic: Merit Care Support Group
I know sometimes people (me) get into auto pilot and just go,go,go,go.
Today I was thinking that tomorrow is support group date. Knowing there was just no way on this flooded part of earth, group would be happening. To confirm this I went to the group link and I see it is still listed as going on time. The unbeliever that I am I called merit care to ask.

There is  NO support group March 31st.

They will try to get it posted for others to know, I don't see that happening as they are so busy too. There for this is my way of sharing the news with you.

Merit Care should have a group in April, wouldn't you think?
Stay dry!
