Oh I know how you feel Kelly... that shaky leg bit after a jaunt on the ol' bicycle.  I've been going out here and there, with the toddler trailer in tow.... it's great at first, because I live on a hill.  Coming home.... not so much.  That last block is a killer and I know better to even attempt to get up my driveway.  I don't feel bad about that, though... even my kids and their friends get off  their bikes and push 'em up the hill when they get to the driveway.

Still, it feels awfully good to get up on that bike.  This time last year, I never would have been able to do even a block.  Woo hoo!!

What was I thinking!

Today I decided it was an ok day, not to windy, not to cold (not hot by any means) and was a good day for a test drive...or should I say ride!

This afternoon I got on my bike, NO not a motor type, but yet the old peddle your arse off kind of bike. I wanted to clock how long it would take me to get to the school I will be working at this summer. I had drove it and it was approx 2.5 miles ONE WAY.

Well I made the whole round trip! My legs are a little shakey,my back is stiff. I will need to sit/hang in my LTX3000 therapy chair after posting this. I have not rode that far in many yrs. I had taken it around the area we live in for maybe 3 miles. Which was around the same area two times LOL

It took me 55 minutes round trip. That is including stopping into the consignment store to pick up my money, Stopping at curves to cancel my membership. So, if you take that away, maybe 40 minutes round trip?

This getting healthy stuff is wonderful and tiring LOL
Until next time, Be kind to your friendly bikers- You never know it might be! LOL

Topic: RE: New To ND and 2 year surgiversary
Hi Nicole and welcome to the board and to North Dakota.  I am fast approaching my 2 year surgiversary, so we are very close with that.

I have no regrets for my surgery either.  You look great!

Yes, the being cold is a struggle, even for me who has lived here all my life.  I can about imagine what it feels like coming from Florida.  I am told that the cold does get better after 3-4 years, but so far I've not seen any improvement.  I freeze from the inside out.  I have bought some very cute summer clothes, but I think I won't be able to wear them.  Of course, once the temperature warms up, maybe....but then still I am dealing with working in an air conditioned building and freezing.  Oh well, it beats the alternative - I could have stayed heavy and warm!

Welcome!

Lori

Thanks Kelly and Becky. I am living in Bismarck. I had to buy new clothes when I got here. I am so cold, have been cold since surgery, but seriously? 45 in June? lol At least all the warm clothes are on clearance. Now I just need to find a coat somewhere. I guess that gives me an excuse to garage sale.

I will for sure be in DL on July 19th for your Big Parade. Curt will be in the bag pipers band in parade. I will be the whack-o running the side line with the camera LOL. I should fit right in with others.
