Topic: Any banders in Fargo area who would like to meet??
Hi everyone, I just found out this week that I have been approved for Lap Band surgery! WAHOO!! I am scheduled for July 24th. Would LOVE to meet others who have had this type of WLS for support and friendship. I live in Fargo and am available between noon and 6:00 pm (I work evenings 6:30 to 11:30 p.m.) Thanks, Dyanna

Happy Holidays to you and everyone also! I wish everyone a safe and happy one. Do I really have to watch what I eat???? I am not in the mood to be carrying a mirror around with me LOL.
I am so looking forward to being in the cities and bike riding around. I hope the weather holds up as planned. I figure if I am biking I can also have some treats. LOL

I am glad you are going to see Dr. Bruderer on the 6th of July. I think you will like him as well as his Assistant, Deb. His nurse, Judy is very sweet also. You can tell him that Sandy M from Williston was among those that recommended him. I had my RNY on Nov. 19th, 2008 and have lost 105 pounds and have had no complications and done very well. In May, 2009, I opted to have Dr. Bruderer do my gall bladder surgery as well even though it is a 3 1/2 drive from my home town. Anxious to hear more from you. Have a fun filled and save 4th of July in North Dakota.

Topic: Vacation?
Ok, for the first time in over a year I have missed support group!!
I attend two groups and I didn't make it to either one. I guess I just needed the break and will call it my vacation and be back on track next month! I just need reminders as to when the meetings are- I forget, old age or lack of enough B 12 LOL

I am still maintaining all my weight loss at the 2 year mark. I had very little issues with the anniversary of my emergency surgery, which surprised me, since I did have some PTSD issues. I am happy to report I am employed, started June 16th, which is also they day my health insurance started. I have AMAZING benefits, and the pay isn't too shabby either! I will be attending the MedOne support group in July, as I have been missing going to support groups and chatting with others who have had or are going to have this amazing surgery. I had a blast shopping for new work clothes (I needed professional clothing, I came from Florida, all I had were shorts and tank tops!)

Just a reminder that there will be a support group on Tuesday evening in the auditorium of the Broadway MeritCare. The address is 737 N Broadway.
Time: 6:30
Shelley WIlm, RN will be there to discuss the program with you and get feedback if you would like to provide some. She is the new Bariatric Coordinator for MeritCare and we are working together to try to make things as easy as possible.

Topic: Dr Bruderer is taking me as a patient
Thanks for the recommendations everyone. Dr. Bruderer has agreed to take me as a patient even though he didn't do my surgery. I have an appointment with him on July 6th to get my labs drawn to see how I am doing 2 years post op.
