Help!!

We MAY be moving from Virginia to the southeastern part of North Dakota. Are there any support groups near Fargo? I need all the support I can get. Surgery was November 24, 2004. As of June 24 I have lost about 95 pounds. It is getting harder and harder to stay away from the "bad" foods!!

Hi Judy, I am from Grand Forks... about 1 1/2 hours to the north of Fargo. I had my surgery in Grand Forks, but I know they have a program in Fargo, as well so I am sure they have meetings there. You might check with Meritcare Hospital in Fargo, ND. They do have monthly meetings for patients, I think. I had surgery there with Dr. Howell (great surgeon), but live in Washington state. I never did attend the meeting when I was back for surgery as the timing wasn't quite right for me. I heard the meetings are good - probably more geared toward new surgery patients (my guess) - but there may be some ongoing support there and you could meet some great people. There are some really wonderful people in ND. Hope you enjoy your new state! 370/253/160?? (getting to be a bit more of a struggle to get the weight off - but still going down). Hang in there.

I am from Fargo, ND - there is a support meeting once a month at MeritCare which is very good. I wait for the support meeting each month. If you need any more info, please let me know.
