Corn allergy and IV fluids

If you have a corn allergy, beware of IV fluids with dextrose in it. Thanks to Tammi, we learned something new at our monthly coffee group. The dextrose can cause an allergic reaction in those people who are allergic to corn. Very interesting. I will have to share this with my coworkers!!!

See there is a reason we have a coffee clutch lol we learn things all the time. We will have to share this at group too, never enough time to cover everything at group, damn nabbit.

Good to know. It's funny that I had 9 surgeries and only 1 doctor tell me that I should include corn as an allergy on my medical information. That was one smart doctor. :)
