Vitamin help needed - B-complex
Hi
I had surgery in Park Rapids, Mn and they have me on a multi vitamin 2 x day, B-12 once day and calcuim tablets how ever many times a day. I am also suppose to take a B-100 complex vitamin once a day. That is where I am having issues...
I had a capsule that I took the powder out to mix with something to take. It was horrible. So I found a liquid vitamin from Swanson's health...oh my that is almost worse. I can't stand the smell or the taste even after I mix it with something. I have always had a problem with stuff like that. I literally gag the minute I smell it let alone taste it. Not pleasant.
I was wondering what kind of vitamins everyone takes and if anyone has any suggestions or recommendations on what I could try. I have asked my dietician also and am waiting to hear back from her.
Thanks!

Hello!
I also had my surgery in PR, GREAT place!!
As far as the B Complex, I tried the liquid from Swansons and had the same problem! I couldn't even try it because it smelt too horrible! If you can stand the pills, Swansons has a B100 complex, but it's the largest size that they have. So, it's tough to get down at first. It'll get easier though, trust me.
Good luck!!

Thanks all for the replies!
I did hear back from my dietician and she gave me the ok to just cut a tablet pill in half and take it that way. I can still taste the vitamin, but not as bad. I found one at Target that is smaller pill and way easier to take.
The B-100 complex just has a variety of B-vitamins in there, with the main being thiamin. They had said that was the main one that we needed.
I did have the B-100 complex vitamin from Swansons, but that was the capsule and not a tablet. Although I didn't look further after that first episode...thru the liquid away...would rather be out that money than have to stare at that bottle and get queasy thinking about it. : )

i hope it gets easier too Vii. Maybe in a couple of months you can go back to capsules. good for you hanging tough.
I know my doctor said that if people are vomiting frequently B1 deficiencies are a concern so I think it is great your doctor has you on the B complex from the get go. I think the big guns recommend it too!
hang in there
