If you can attend any of the local support groups they are a great help.  There is one on Mon. Feb.15th in the basement of Innovis Hospital at 6pm.  I get so much help and support from them. I didn't do much to prepare and things went good for me.  Just make sure you have liquids at home for after you are home.  Sugar Free jello, broth,  whey isolate protein powder, sugar free pudding, sugar free popsicles, skim milk, light yogurt.  Good luck.  Tammi

Stedix,

Congrats on your up-coming lifestyle change! It will be one hell of a ride. Hang on tight and enjoy all that your new life is going to offer. It is just amazing the changes you will go through. I will sound like a broken record to most people, but most of this information is good.

1. Take pictures each month, great reference to look back on. The where you were and where you are factor.
2. If at all able, take your measurements. This is a great tool down the road. There will be times your weight loss will stall and you will become frustrated thinking your doing something wrong. That is not the case, when we are not losing pounds we are losing inches.
3. Not sure what program you are with (Innovis/Meritcare) but follow your programs rules and you will do great.
4. Work on getting a routine down ahead of time. This will help with your transgression after.
5. Bring chap stick with to the hospital. You will need/want it.
6. Make sure you have stock in your house of all the food/drink items you will need for the first couple weeks after, this helps in case your just not feeling up to shopping. I know I didn't feel the urge to run out to the stores LOL
.6. Relax and let everything work for you, enjoy your family and company as much as you can.
7. Sip,sip, sip, walk, walk, walk, sip, sip, sip, sip, walk, walk, walk, and lots of rest in between.

When doing the math for everything you need to do in a day, you will become overwhelmed and the numbers will not add up. It does become easier in time, don't fret the small stuff.

There will be times where you just can not get in all 60 grams of protein,64 oz of liquids and all your supplements. Relax, Rome was not built in a day.

Remember supplements and protein first and foremost. Liquids will keep you out of the hospital for being dehydrated. Do what you can and work as hard as you can. You will do wonderful!!

Attending support groups is a positive thing!
Innovis meets Feb 15th- lower level of hospital, through double doors and on the left 6pm-730 pm
Meritcare meets Feb.23rd 630-730pm in the auditorium.
Hope to see you at one of them. Each are open to ALL, no matter what group you are with and at what part of your journey you are at.
