No Support groups ND?

Hello all, Im new to OH. Just trying to find a support group in Jamestownor some where close. any one know of one? Sure doesnt seem to be much activity on this board. Any info grestly appreciated. Loretta

Hi Loretta, I am from Valley City...and also would like to finda support group close. I don't know of any right now. I am going to have surgery May 16...so hope to find something soon. If there is none in Jamestown or Valley City yet, maybe we need to get one started . I have been going to the one in the Merit Care Hospital in Fargo, and I think it is fine, but it isn't really one where people are talking with one another about their experiences, and suggestions for each other. I have gone to the one at Meritcare in Fargo. I think it is pretty good, and I have found many people willing to share their stories (I have not had surgery yet - July). There is also a lady that goes there that wanted more "personal" support, so she started a GCC (gastric cooking club). I am on the e-mail list, but in order to go you must be post op. Basically, it is like a potluck of high protein low carb menu items, then you bring the recipe to share. As I said, I haven't been there yet, and it did just start up, but that one is meeting once a month also.

What nights and where?

I am also in Valley City, would be great to get a support group together for here. WIll have to try and investigate the possibilities. Also would need to find out who is interested. Let me know.. I will look into a couple places.

There is a support group first tues of every month at St Alexius in Bismarck. at 7:00 p.m. in Boniface Hall located next to the E.R. entrance.
