Whats the next step?

Hello Every one. Just wanted to know what is next? As I am looking to have WLS. I have seen a Dietian twice and have sent my paper work in to the merit care clinic, so now what? I guess Im not sure. Im not even sure if I will get approved, I know my insurance covers this type of surgery but if I am a canidate, my dietian says yes I am at 5"5 228 So what s next? Well, Loretta, I guess it depends what the progression is where you're at. I had three visits with a dietitian, did a three month logged diet plan that she reviewed each month, the psych evaluation, and then the pre surgery tests and orientation. It is an uber pain in the ass to "hurry up and wait" because it took me a year and a half to get to my surgery date but that was ok because I had plenty of time to prepare emotionally and mentally. You'll also have to start testing protein drinks and finding a good chewable or liquid vitamin and start incorporating them into your diet now. I found the best one at Walmart and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg and has 46 grams of protein and tastes good. Some of the more expensive ones remind me of drinking sludge...blah! Well I guess I should expect a long wait huh. I know the clinic I am going through has protein drinks and pureed foods you buy through them, of which I am sure is expensive. So what is the brand of protein drinks and vitamans you get from walmart? If I will have to be on them for the rest of my life I certainly do not want to have to pay a fortune for them. Well my WLC called me and said I have to have my primary DR. refer me to a sleep DR since I snore, then it would be another Coribidity to add, since I have GERD, they need another, but I do have Arthritis too but she never said a word about that; I thought that was a coibidity also? Friday I go to have a full physical at my primary DR, so hopefully I can get them to refer me to the sleep clinic, I dont think a person gets in to that to quickly though, but I could be lucky, ha ha. by the time I go through all of these appts. for all these DR.s it will be a fortune. My husband and I are going on a trip next Feb.08, I certainly hope to have this done before then. Well I hope you dont mind if I ask you a question? have you had any problems since your surgery? can you tolerate most every thing or not? Are you sick at all?
