Topic: RE: Great news!!!!!!!!
And there is now a hiccup. LOL I knew my bubble was going to get popped. I have to wait like a week for all my medical records to get to me, what a load. I went to the base and they said they could give me my records today but since they were going to be closing in 10 minutes I had to wait. OK so what were they going to do for that 10 minutes? I know, I know I should be apatient BUT I was not told to get my records until today or I would have done it all by now. I am going to get copies of everything for my own records so this doesnt happen again.

great news about your liver. My question is, did they originally suggest to do the liver shrinkage diet BEFORE your original surgery date? or was this an after thought once they opened you up? Some surgeons do not require it and even if my new surgeon doesn't I am still going to do it jsut to be safe. I have jumped through some hoops over the past few months then the surgeon i originally was supposed to have decided she was leaving post and the 80 that were left that she couldn't get it before she left were all filtered out to new clinics.

It sounds like you have a good philosophic view - it will happen when it happens. That is so much better than railing against fate. Good for your body and your mental health. How are you going about trying to lose the 30 pounds? I started a pre-op 6 week diet and with all the intake of water and protein and 6 small meals or snacks a day it has been the first time in decades I've lost weight. It felt like I was 'trying out' for the loser's bench . But we all have our ways and I wish you well on whatever you are doing. .
I'm soooo glad your liver biopsy was fine. And that you are healing. I was wondering about that. Imust say I really admire the way you are handling this. And I continue to send you good vibes and well wishes.
Admiringly yours,
MaggieT

Topic: Great news!!!!!!!!
I just got off the phone with my NEW surgeon and I am scheduled to go see him @ 10 am tomorrow morning, YES!!!!!! I have been sweating it out for two weeks and finally decided to call Tri-Care today to find out what was up and they gave me my auth number along with the dates for my allowances. AWESOME yes very awesome. She told me that barring any complications I could be going in for surgery in roughly a month since I had already done all the stuff over at Womack that I had to do, so I am good on that. I just have to do the cardio test and the thyroid test and I will be good to go. Just have to wait on the authorization for the surgery itself which takes roughly 2 weeks (7 to 10 business days) to be denied or approved. So kind of floating on clouds right now but I just know someone today is gunna pop my giggly little bubble.
I am going to contine with all the stuff I have been doing that I learned at Womack and will do all the other stuff that is supposed to happen before surgery (doing this as though I am still getting it done at WOMACK). I do not have to do the 6 month supervised diet which is a good thing because I do not feel like waiting another 6 months, I have been waiting long enough already. WOmack has stricter guidelines than my new surgeon does so I think sticking with what i have been doing is a good bet. That way I am almost guaranteed to have any more hiccups along the way unless there is a blood panel that comes back funky I should be good to go. Sorry this is so long but I am so happy right now.

I like thunderstorms. Great about the pup. And sometimes those feelings can just be butterflies. It is always great to have stuff altered into a smaller size. I have lost alot on my own and all my stuff is now a size or two too large. But I am not jumping up and down for joy over that because it may be short lived.
My agenda for the day:
Take my MomInLaw in to get her car serviced (she is legally blind and we drive her car for her when she needs to go do stuff)- OK THAT IS DONE
Maybe some laundry. Water the lawn. Finish cleaning my house.
A few other things. then we have to take MomInLaw back over to pick her car up then take her home.

Topic: RTP support groups
Are there any support groups in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill area? I live in Chapel Hill so I would like a support group closer than Raleigh, if there is one. I go to the monthly meetings at Duke but I would like another group too.

Topic: RE: Why are some postop wls people so rude?
I think I will just stay over here now. I got a "polite" message from someone telling me I had NO idea what I was talking about when someone asked the signs of gallbladder disease. LMAO I think I would know since mine was turning GREEN when they took it out. LOL. SOme people just need a serious reality check but I am not going to give it to them because I am bigger than that.

Topic: Stormy Monday Roll Call
Hi all you wonderful peopleeeeees!
Nice wake up alarm this morning. BANG! rumble rumble. That's ok. Anyway, today I need to locate the Office of Rehabilitation and get registered. I know it is somewhere in Durham. It is hard when all my paper work is still being held hostage. Have you ever had premonitions? No, I'm not talking about the movie. Even before the trucker came for our stuff, I had a feeling there would be issues. Although at the time I was too caught up in my dog's issues. By the way, she is doing much better! Anyway, we have a wedding to go to in CA. We leave June 1. My dress is being altered as we speak. I'm supposed to pick it up the day we fly out. I've had this feeling that I'm not going. I don't know why but I have felt this from the first time my stepdaughter said she was going to fly us out. So, all this is coming down to the wire. I wait in great anticipation to see how all this pans out.
