WOW! I did not expect to still be in such a limbo state of affairs today. I thought that we would have a schedule for the packers and movers by now and we don't. The DH has to report for work in just two weeks from Monday and we aren't even scheduled yet. This really sucks big time because i have last minute visiting to do with family and I am stuck here until I know when I am available. Sorry for the ranting. I just needed to vent. Hopefully we will know something today. If we don't then due to monday being a holiday nothing will get scheduled before next Tuesday I am sure. Worse case scenario is that i will have to stay behind a couple of extra weeks until the movers get here and the DH will have to drive himself out there alone with me following out there alone later. Not really fun. I love road tripping but not as much by myself as with a fellow traveler.

Happy Friday all you North Carolinians. I am headed to the beach this afternoon for a weekend of peace and quiet with just my husband (no kids yelling mom :)
I am a little anxious though, I am leaving my family for 6 weeks starting next sat. I am going to be a nurse at a weightloss camp in PA while my daughter attends the camp, to be a mentour in NC. It is a huge sacrafice but well worth it for my daughter. She attended the camp last year and lost 40 pounds and has kept it off, they asked her to be a mentour since she was the most dedicated camper they had ever had (so so proud).
The camp is well worth it but after this summer it will have costed us $12,000, so thus I am working this summer to pay some of that.
I hope I can get my laptop working so I can continue to participate on OH.
I wish you all a wonderful weekend,
Audra

WOW sounds like a hard place to be in, I am sorry your having a hard time getting the finances for surgery. With a BMI in the 70's you will most likely need to lose some weight before you would be approved. Maybe you can use this time to do weigh****chers or a sensible diet ( I know it is difficult) so that when you are finished with school you can find a job with good insurance that would cover weightloss surgery.
The only other option is paying cash out of the country, but still very expensive.
I don't have the answer but I feel for you and hope you can find a way to become healthier.

Today is finally a pay day and I am hoping to get some yarn. So, that is on my agenda. Possibly go to Curves this morning and that's it for now. I can spend all day in a yarn shop. All the colors fascinate me! Tonight, I'd love to go to a movie but I may buy one instead so I can watch it over and over. Although, seeing Pirates of the Caribbean in 3D or IMAX would be cool.
What is on your agenda?

So I am 24 years old and currently a student still on my mother's insurance. I haven't been to the doctors in some time, but I decided it was time for me to lose some weight and looked into the lapband. I attended a seminar, and made an appointment only to call United Healthcare and be told she had an exclusion from her employer's plan. So my next idea was Medicaid which come to find out that bariatric surgery has been completely wiped out for North Carolina. My BMI is almost in the 70s and I don't know what to do. Anything dealing with weightloss is excluded from my mother's plan and I have no idea what options I have. I was thinking of buying insurance but I have no clue how that works, and if I did buy insurance I would still have to find one that doesn't have crazy deductibles, no exclusions, and affordable. As I said I haven't been to the doctors in years so there is no paperwork saying that I am moribly obese or suffer from anything like diabetes. Any ideas?

It's been a long day and it's not over yet. I've done a bunch of housework, run errands, went to a Dr's appointment, ran more errands, more housework/laundry, work in the garden and have a sick teen at home.
Off to collect more laundry from outside, then run to the store to pick up a few groceries.
See you all tomorrow.

Been at work all day but decided to take a whole hour (!) lunch break all to myself. I eat at Whole Foods so it is easier to find stuff that is ok to eat. had a mini-crisis this morning. I got my approval letter for the surgery but it had the date for my surgery wrong. I was on the phone a.s.a.p. to Duke and they were wonderful. They called my insurance company and got it all worked out. So, I'm still scheduled for surgery on the 3rd and as excited as I can be.
Hope everyone is doing well out there!

Hi all,
Well, I am having a hard time NOT getting bored sitting in my almost empty house. I have read until my eyes hurt and we are limited on how much internet time we can use so I'm not on this much. I know this time next week, I will be in CA so that will be fun.
Today, no plans. I may go to Curves to start my one week free. It was fun yesterday. The American Tobaco Trail is also becoming my friend. Sparkle and I enjoy our walks on that too. What do you all have planned today?
