What are your plans?
Jenny,
So sorry to hear that you had such a rough start, but I'm glad to hear that you are on the mend and finally starting to feel better. While I know it was are tough way to start, I'll bet that in a year you'll be absolutely delighted that you did this and it will all be a dim memory.
Wishing you continued success and good health,

Hi Bonnie,
The changes you are talking about don't happen to all of us, but it's not uncommon. It really depends on how you viewed yourself before and how you view yourself now and as you move forward in this life-changing journey. It can cause some discomfort for some friends and family as you start to see yourself in a different light and expect more out of life, including respect for yourself and from those around you. This new found since of self can be unsettling to some. Some relationships that weren't on very solid ground to start with can suffer and may not even make it through the transitions, but those that are solid seem to grow even stronger.
Enjoy finding the new you that you discover through this journey!

Wonder where the ulcers came from if they weren't there before and you didn't do anything to cause them. Just curious.
Congrats on the 36lbs!
Glad to hear that you had such a nice trip. I'm hoping to see some lovely photos soon ;-)
I've spend the day running around like a chicken without a head.... Dr's appointments, chasing down insurance authorizations, baking cookies, gardening, taking care of volunteer work, just to name a few... Also getting ready for a trip to the beach and taking care of continuing ed obligations to keep my broker's license in force.

I'm glad to hear that you are getting all of your ducks in a row. It must be soooo exciting! I know that you'll miss Terry, but I'm sure you two will be together soon. Are you planning to fly out or will you be driving to NM... Forgive me if you said already and I missed it. Since you won't be following for a couple of weeks is there any chance we'll see you one last time? I'm missing you already sweetie.
Hoping you have a great move and really enjoy your new home.
Hugs,

I have not been around much. I had my rny May 2nd and went home the 4th. I did well for the first week, but things went downhill really quiickly after that. I was readmitted to the hospital May 24th and diagnosed with two bleeding ulcers where they attached my stoma to the small intestines. It definitely was not there when tthey completed the surgery and the docs said it wasn't anything I did either. I was in the hospital for 8 days and am finally feeling much, much better. I actually feel human now. I am home on TPN ( liquid iv nutrition) and will be on t for a while.
Even with all of the complications I would have the surgery again. I have already lost 36 pounds since I started this process. I was so dehydrated and malnourished so I have gained some of the weight back, but am not worried about it. I am just glad to feel better.
