Topic: It's been 2 years!!!
Hi All! Well, 2 years have flown by for me since my revision from Lap-Band to RNY....and I couldn't be HAPPIER :) My pre-op BMI was 41.8 and it's currently 22.5...I've lost over 115lbs. Life has been full & FUN! I ran my first 5K in April...who would of thunk?! My health has been fabulous...no issues with out of range labs ever. This truly has been one of the best things I have ever done for MYSELF :) I went back to school full time last year to fulfill a lifelong dream...there's NO stopping me! My next endeavor is to start researching Plastics. I could have had it done a while ago but with school it just wasn't possible.
Hope everyone is well and good luck/best wishes on YOUR adventure!

Hello everyone!
I am new to this site, and am excited about the wealth of information that I have been able to find here. I am currently just starting my path to WLS. I went to my first infosession this week, even though I have been thinking about this and researching it for many years.
I have not yet met with a surgeon or gone through any of the steps, other than turning in my initial paperwork. I am not sure of the exact process used at Baptist Hospital (Winston), where I plan on having the surgery, if approved. I have an appt with my family doctor this week, just to discuss all of this with him too. I've brought it up with him a few times before, but he kept wanting me to try other things. The 'other things' never work for me. I need something that will make me commit, and give me the motivation to truly change my habits long term. I really want to enhance my life, and to just FEEL better.
Since this is my first post, really, I just wanted to say HI and that you will probably hear from me more often. If anyone has gotten their surgery through Baptist, I would love to hear from you.
Thanks so much!
Nic

We were supposed to get some too but so far its been sunny. Good Sparkle (?) is doing great. I do not have much of anything planned other than to get my house cleaned up. I slacked last week when we were going through A LOT of stuff. The headaches are back so it is back to drinking oodles of water for the day and possibly the next few days.
Good luck on the job hunt. I am going to keep wishing you that until you get one. :P. You will do fine. Look at all you have accomplished so far. There is a lot to be said about that, right?
Going to also be looking into our trip to Scotland, we are planning it for NEXT year. We were going to do it this year but that is way too much going on at one time and that is a lot of stress on me to have to do the WLS, plan trips, and go back to work come October. Yes I said October. One of the advantages of being a sub for the county schools.

It is not getting here fast enough for me. I am really nervous about having the surgery. But the last 2 months I have been in and out of the hospital staying over night a couple of times thinking I was having heart problems. Come to find out Gall Bladder is functions at 19 %. Thats not to good, Been having bad dizzy/nauses spells and that burn deep in stomache area. Not only that but now I am on a Liver reduction diet and my body is fighting back telling me its hungry. Having to watch my suger level so it don't bottom out from diet and meds combined. plus feeling like crap from the jacked up Gall Bladder. Other than that I am great and looking forward to the 27th. I am having the Roux-en-Y surgery. I guess what scares me is not knowing what to expect, I have been researching and reading for the past year or so and have two freinds that have had the surgery but you still never really know what to expect until you have it done. Then I am afraid I may say what have I done, and regret it. But I have to do something or I will have a harder time down the road, 350 lbs, sugar, high blood pres, high chorl., fatty liver diease, gall bladder messed up, knees starting to tell the story of the weight. I am 34 yrs old so now is the time.

Hey all,
Looks like we may get some rain today. But it will still be steamy hot. Today is a vet appt for Sparkle who is doing great by the way. I also have to pay bills. I was going to say something negative but I am not. The fact that I can pay some is awesome!
Not much on the job hunt. I am sure something will come up soon.

Have fun on your vacay Barbara. Good luck on the job search Shoutjoy.
It wasn't as hot today as it has been. We got rain here this morning it and seemed to keep the major heat at bay. Supposed to have more storms over the next few days, hopefully that will keep the heat tampered a bit too.
I got my medical records finally and just have to wait until the 22nd for my stress test. They read it within a day or two and then providing nothing is up with that then I will get my surgery date.

Wow, time if flying by now. The 27th is almost here. Which surgery are you having? I had the VSG with Dr. Enoch and all went fine. Though my surgery was delayed about 3 hrs because of the first surgery of the day.
I'm now on my 4th week of food and doing ok. I'm still a little soar but not much. I think I am trying to do things I shouldn't be doing yet.
I will be glad to answer any questions you have...just let me know.
