I'm a relative newcomer to the site and to the world of WLS. I've attended a couple of seminars and have researching the whole process. However, I recently broached the subject of WLS surgery with my primary physician and she was not very receptive. Granted, I don't need their "permisson" and I can gather my information and submit it to my surgeon myself but I do need a letter of support and her willingness to cooperate with the surgeon for any aftercare. I'm going to talk about it again with her soon but wanted to know if anybody else had any experience with dealing with this type of situation or if you were in the W-S/Greensboro if your own PCP was supportive in your WLS endeavors just in case I have to switch providers... I'm going to do my darndest to get through the process and have my surgery, I'm deserving in all other aspects... 5'5", 266 pounds, borderline hypertension, sleep apnea... I'm not about to let an anti-WLS MD stand in my way :)

Hi Kim,

I'm glad to hear that you are doing so well. I think that you will find that sleeping will get easier and easier. Make sure that you are staying hydrated and getting up to walk around every hour or so that you are awake. It not only helps to move the gas that was used during surgery, but it also helps keep things like the rare DVT that can happen after any surgery at bay.

I agree about Dr Pryor, she is the best as far as I'm concerned. But my friend lives in Raleigh and doesn't want to drive out there. I don't know why and I've tried talking her into it but she wants to stay with Peter Henderson??? So I thought I'd throw his name out there and see if anybody knows anything about him.

A friend of mine is looking into WLS. She's saw a doctor across the street from Rex, his name is Peter Henderson. Does anyone know anything about this doctor?
