Topic: Finally done with the self sabotage (XP)
I am ten months out from my Duodenal Switch (DS), but spent the last three months going through an emotional block. I got to my wedding weight, a weight I haven't seen in 13 years, and then mentally was unable to fathom going any further down. Worse than that, I was actually TERRIFIED to do so. So, I sabotaged myself. Badly.

I was continuing to go to my DS and WLS support groups and work through my issues with my therapist even while I knew I was keeping myself from losing more weight and getting healthy, and likely putting my health in jeopardy in the process. I have been lurking on here daily, watching as an outsider who just couldn't wrap my head around doing what I needed to do to be healthy. Let me tell you, at times reading your posts and seeing the hope and success there has been my lifeline. I thank you all for that.

Over the past few days I have finally reached a turning point, have resolved my issues, stopped the sabatoge, and resumed my healthy habits. I KNOW I am ready to move on with my weight loss and get my health in order, just as I knew before that I was not.

This is no excuse for not having taken care of myself, it is just my reality. I wanted to get this all out in the open to start fresh with my journey, as well as to let anyone else who is struggling know that they are not alone.

Met with the personal trainer this morning for my beating...
I do feel great about having exercised though. I've been consistent for several weeks working with him for an hour Tues and Thurs and then walking with a group 3 other days each week.

Not much else going on. I admit to being a little nervous about a follow up interview tomorrow morning for a job.

Going to take my son some cold water and green tea to him at his work today. Go see my sister and watch Days of our lives. My air in my car don't work so I will be soaked. Have a blessed day all.

Wow, it's going to be a hot one today.  Going to recycling, doctor and job hunting.  Stay cool everyone.  I have to get my library card fixed.  Evidently I have to create my account on line first.  Planning our first Durham Support Group meeting for July 19 if I can get the room reserved. So, that is exciting!

I hope you all have an awesome day!

And you look great!  I was SO tempted to go with the gastric bypass, but really, really wanted the sleeve.  Just didn't know how I was going to be able to get it.

I'm happy for you. I had gastric bypass 6 years ago. I had bcbsnc and back then that is all they would pay for. I am glad they changed it. I wanted the sleeve. But glad I got it  all over with.

I am so excited - overwhelmed actually that when I checked the bariatric surgery policy for BCBSNC they have made a policy change and they now WILL pay for vertical sleeve gastrectomy!!

I never thought this would happen - now I can go ahead and do this AND my insurance will pay for it.
